Hello All,

Winner announced, please see my last post.....

I have truly enjoyed my time here on BF these past couple months and to show my gratitude I would like to GAW a Kershaw Leek. The Kershaw Leek was one of the "gateway" knives that got me into collecting higher end knives. Still among my favorite knives, I still am always on the look out for Leeks and picked this one up just for a GAW. So, reply "entry" followed by a pic or description of your knife collection or a pic or description of your "gateway" knife that led you to pursue this hobby. Open to all BF members! I will randomly pick a winner in a week or so depending on the interest in this GAW. Thanks Again!!!!

Good on you! Not an entry, just wanted to thank you for hosting the GAW!

Good luck to everyone who enters.

Not an entry here either, but that's a mighty nice thing to offer up to members here. thanks for doing this,it'll make someone real happy.

First off, I would like to say, Thank you for this awesome GAW!
Second I would like to say "Entry"
And third. Here we go, this is my very first knife and the knife that has spawned thousands of dollars in spending. She's seen some rough use, shes seen many years in pocket, but yet she still goes. My grandfather gave me this knife when I was about 7 years old, through the many nicks and cuts I learned to be very careful and pay attention, I learned the value of a good tool, from breasting grouse to common house chores, this blade has been with me, I no longer edc it for fear of losing it, but this fine piece of craftsmanship sits in my knife case and comes out every now and again to help me out around the house.

Again, thank you for this fine GAW! :) Cheers

Entry.

Thank you for the opportunity. The Leek is a knife I have been wanting to check out for a while.

Here is my little accumulation of knives:

And just for fun, here is the collection that has been staying at my place for a few months, but will soon be going to it's actual home :)

Awesome GAW, please accept this as my ENTRY
My collecting is still in its infancy. I own probably 15 Kershaws, a couple Sogs, a Cold Steel, 4 Vics, the Esee zancudo and avispa, a RAT 1, and 3 Spydercos.
My favorites right now are my Kershaw Emerson 6k, my Kershaw leek (I have a plain edge stainless one but would love a black serrated like the GAW), and my newly acquired Spyderco pm2. The pm2 is the only knife I have over the $100 mark.
I've been curiously modifying some of my knives by stone washing (my rat 1 and my tenacious) and cutting waves into some blades (my avispa and rat 1). The modding is also in its infancy but keeps me interested.
Anyways, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Entry Thanks for hosting this GAW I still can't post pics with my kindle so I'll just tell you about my gateway knife. It was a Kershaw Kuro that is still one of my EDC knives. As a matter of fact I just hosted a GAW with a Kuro for the GAW knife. Thanks again for the opportunity.

ENTRY

My gateway knife that got me into my new found hobby is a CRKT M14-SFG Tanto. I've always really loved Tanto blades and I really had no idea how much of an interest I would have of knives in general pretty quickly after getting that knife. I started reading about different alloys and makers and within 2 months I picked up a Spyderco Yojimbo 2, a Benchmade 375 Adamas, and after a few months on this forum while looking into a small fixed blade knife, was recommended an Urge by Shannon Carter by a fellow BF member. Though a very small collection that just started with an interest in mainly modern and tactical styles I appreciate all styles and I'm looking to expand and branch out so I do very much appreciate the GAW thank you!

Entry. I am in. My gateway knife was a small stockman but your leek is a great small knife for pocket carry. I hope it will be a gateway fr the family member I give it to.;)

Great giveaway... Entry-- my gateway knife was the spyderco persistence... So many good options, so little time...

Entry...

My gateway knife was an old Schrade (fixed) my grandpa kept with is other tools and used for anything and everything--last I saw it was years ago, covered with paint and some rust. It was a cool medium sized bowie; sadly, it dissapeared with so much of his stuff after he passed. An uncle likely disposed of it; he didn't get the value--sentimental or otherwise. In one way or another, I've been chasing that image since...

Good luck to all!

Not an entry, as I am looking for a Leek Rainbow and there is no point in having 2 Leeks :D
Thank you for the generosity though.
My gateway knife was a Victorinox Tinker... I just fell in love of the thing... and I still carry it.. have over 50 saks and dozens of other sharp things but that Tinker is still in my pocket...

Entry.
I got my first knife at the age of ten, just a few months off of a full decade ago. An excellent little SAK Tinker. From then on, I could not get enough. I also blame knives for my lack of money today. Thanks for the generous giveaway chance!
