Well lets see.

I am a peer guide at Bangor Uni, I help students to settle in and help them with personal crisis. I am a KnifeKnut with a lot more to learn. I cannot offer much in the way of insider infomation, but I am striving to change my style of posting day in day out.

I think a moderator aught to pour water on a flame war and not make matters worse as many seem to do. I think more moderators need hostile I.D. lessons on what a Troll REALLY is. Oh and I am not ashamed to admit when I am wrong. I think this marks a man from a fool.

All I can offer is to help as much as I can, give what experience I have learnt and try to help others. Not very impressive but it is all I can offer. I don't expect anything from this but if I can help and no one better offers...

Spark,
I have been a member for awhile. I spend a lot of time here and have a good feel for how things work. I would enjoy the chance to give back to BFC some of the great knowledge and fun I have receved.

Strider (Bob) gets a second from me. I remember when there wasn't much more than him, and a handful of others that made there way over here during the board wars of fall '98.

Senator (Kelly) is another one that's a square shooter.

I've e-mailed to volunteer to be a moderator in the past a few times and I didn't even get "dear jonny" letter in return, wassup wit dat!

Well I'm more than willing to offer my services again. My qualifications? Well my name is Ralph and I'm a knifeaholic.I'm 31 years old,and spend far to much money on knives,(well that's what the wifey say's anyway)I can spell and utilize the correct grammer above nursery school level.I'm not a rocket scientist, but I have more common sense than most
biggrin.gif
: Okay,it's getting a little deep in here.Well, I'd say I have the best qualification one can have here, and that's "Good Judgement" I have been a registered member here since the beginning, and was around when we only had Knifeforums, before this wonderful place came about.I'm friendly, fairly courteous, have a decent amount of knowledge about knives,Bladeforums etc,and I spend a decent amount of time here on the forums everyday.I don't post as much as some, but my presence is strong here never the less.So let me know,I would moderate wherever you need me.
Ralph

I would do it. I beleive strongly in the hands off rule.
Also now that I have asked to help I can b*tch about who you pick.

I'll throw my name into the hat. Currently I am a 42 year old addicted knife nut!
wink.gif
I am on the forums at least twice a day and try to keep current to the trends in the market. I have collected knives since 8 years old and was fortunate enough in 1998 to have Kit Carson take me under his wing to learn how to fullfill a life long dream and make my own knives. Since then I have meet alot of nice people on line and also in person at the knife shows. I would help out as needed to continue to help keep spreading the knife knowledge to whoever asks. Sometimes I am direct and to the point but I am open to new ideas. Cheers!

Yeah, and there are a lot of folks out there who are wearing targets! LOL Thanks, but...

A few months back there was a thread about the most respected forum members. Any of the three men I named then would be fantastic choices - Greg Mete (Kodiak PA), Yvsa, and Gary Graley. They are all knowledgable, calm, level-headed, and perhaps most importantly, wise.

Gosh.... I definitely am not applying!

I do not have any of the qualifications. But I have seen many volunteers in this thread who have earned my respect and I will support whoever is selected.

Besides... I'm going to be very busy being VG's W&C Slave.

Okay, Para. I just want you to know you got a fan in me. I shall wait for your return.

I would like to second Golok's post. Para has always been nice and very helpful to me since I joined BFC.

I'll throw my support behind Strider.

We have our differences, yes, but I think he'd do a good job as a moderator. He seems knowledgeable, and usually level headed.

Every person who offered here is extremely generous and I'd support each of them.

PhilL's nomination of @Chanserv gets a big second from me. That guy has been nothing short of a quiet gentleman who walks softly and carries a big stick... Seems I've heard stories of retaliation after someone once tried to boot the @Chan-Man from Chat.

I'd love to help out more here in BFC as well but think we should focus on the names up front as there are some great assets there.

I feel Dann Fassnacht (glockman99) would be an excellent moderator for your forums, and I highly recommend him.

Kelly,
Ok, so I'll withdraw my nomination
wink.gif
(Hey, I figured I'd nominate either you, Kysa or Josh B.) figured one of the three would draw some kind of reaction :P .

Now CJ, there's another one I'll second. Good guy, been here since the founding. 'nuther vet of the forum wars.

"Aw" Code3 you really do care. Thanks I try and be levelheaded but it can be hard.

if 'blowing ones trumpet' was an indication of worthiness, we would have some darn good ones to pick from
smile.gif

as Senator Kelly mentioned, Gary 'G2' Graley would definately be worth consideration.

bill o.

I have to agree with G2 myself, he's a fine gentleman and would be a worthy moderator...now Gary, about a sheath for my Persian..

To hell with everyone else, chanserve is the man! He's even there in the morning when everyone else is sleeping..
