Who would be happy only Civivi or similar knife?

If CIVIVI is a brand made by WE, why not make the thread in the WE sub forum?
I don’t understand why anyone makes a thread in General Knife Discussion and doesn’t expect expect unwanted feedback/opinions. Now, if someone wants unbiased opinions, then GKD is the place to post. But don’t get all butt hurt and defensive when the discussion doesn’t go as planned.
I don't see a problem with posting in here. The We knife forums are very limited.

I'm happy to report that Civivi knives tend to ship with clean internals that show attention to detail both inside and out.

I also appreciate this with the Civivi knives I ordered. I also take them apart pretty much once I get them, but its nice to get a budget knife that isn't filled with god-knows-what. Most budget knives I've received needed the cleaning out the box, with Civivi the initial disassembly is pretty much just a formality.

Talking about these bargain Chinese knives has got me thinking about one I always wanted, but never bought: the Kizer Gemini. I guess I will be a hypocrite and order a titanium knife after all, even if it is a pretty cheap knife for a titanium s35vn knife.

Did you know they also have the Kizer Vanguard Gemini which is G-10 and Bohler N690 steel for $75? That's what I really like about Kizer is that they offer budget options too.

I had one years ago. It was a good knife. I want one in titanium like a custom Laconico. I love the classic simplicity of his designs.

I've always liked his designs too. I have the Artisan Small Centauri, which is 1 of his designs and I believe it's his only front flipper so far. Unfortunately, I have to send it back because it has pretty bad blade play which is still there no matter how tight the pivot is.

All this talk about CIVIVIs is making me want to get another one. And I was NOT planning on buying another knife anytime soon :(. Can't remember if I said in this thread but my Baklash is currently my beater knife. It's literally the knife I use most around the house. I got the black stonewash one but I want something uncoated and the same overall profile. Reading through this thread, the Elementum seems pretty popular but I have issues paying $50 for a blade less than 3.5"...(coming from the same guy who just paid $174 for a 3.4")

OH, and I really also just want another one of those nice pouches + microfiber cloths that come with every CIVIVI. Surprised no one mentioned that little bonus yet lol. I just put my more expensive knives in them; currently have a Manix 2XL in one and an AD-15 in the other one:).

I can kinda understand. I adore my ZDP Delica. I still often get in the mood to carry it. But do I? No. Virtually never actually. Not because it isn't a good knife, but in the time since then I've acquired so many much more expensive knives that I feel obligated to carry them instead and the Delica is just too perfect as a tool. If I were to suddenly loose all my other knives and get back all the money I've spent on them leaving just my Delica would I be happy only ever having that? Yeah, actually. I probably would.

Yea, their pouches are pretty nice! It's great they include them, even if I never use them.

I'm considering the Vexer next. 9 inch long knife, and actually has pretty thick blade stock for a Civivi, so I'm interested in checking it out. I really dig my Baklash, and I'm enjoying my Incite a lot! My plethiros is cool but is just a little uncomfortable, although it packs a lot of blade for the size and is a seriously good slicer.

The Vexer is awesome for the price point. If I'm not mistaken, it's CIVIVI's biggest knife to date. I don't know what you plan to use it for, but I got it with EDC/tactical use in mind. The action is incredibly due to the blade size/weight and their detent design. After maybe 100 or so "flips", I haven't got it to not deploy fully with the flipper. And it is literally easier to Spydie-flick than a Spyderco. Even though I only own two Spydercos, I can say this because for a Spyderco, you have to do the reverse flick by concentrating your middle finger force (:D) upwards toward the top of the knife, which is an unnatural movement for your middle finger. For the Vexer, you only need a percentage of the force applied and outwards, not upwards, which is a much more natural motion. I'm sure the ball-bearings and thumb opening design have a lot to do with it as well, but seriously, I deploy my Vexer 75% of the time with a reverse flick rather than using the flipper, it's literally easier.

Besides the action, the thing is just badass IMO. Thickish, relatively coarse textured G10 scales (compared to the Baklash), and the blade is a beautiful spear point with a generous belly. If they came out with a Vexer some kind of back lock style (by that I mean along the lines of compression lock or ball/rod type), I would pay double the price for one.

I browsed through CIVIVI's catalog last night. Not sure what I'm interested in yet, but I'm eyeing either the Aquila or the Shredder. I hate the ONLY GOLD LINER option for the Aquila (and also that thumb opening may not be big enough for Spydie-flicking), and the Shredder is a little too long of a blade for my intended use.

Random unrelated note but I just realized that I actually use my black PM2 wave more than anything ATM, so I'm feeling impulsive and may just pick up another one in Satin...

I'd never heard of the company before joining here lately. I still don't have a desire to buy one.

I prefer to not buy from Chinese companies when I can avoid it, and with knives, it's easy to give my money to Spyderco and Benchmade.

Happy? No. I'm not a fan of D2, so that cuts out most of their lineup. Aren't they all liner locks too? Nothing wrong with a liner lock but I would miss other locking mechanisms. The 9cr in my baklash is good stuff though.

Is the Vexer their biggest knife? Thinking about other large Civivis, it is bigger than the Incite or the Naja.

The Naja remains one of my favorite knives of all time. I could try to explain but it really needs to be experienced first hand. The feel of the action... The way that big blade slices through materials... The way those contours hug the hand... It's a real gem. Sadly, it's been discontinued. Existing stock is on sale at BladeHQ. I can't recommend it strongly enough to people who want a larger EDC knife.
