Who Would Be Interested In Doing A Collaboration Classic Hunter With Me??

one of the guys that buys Knives from me just has that done,
they did it by laser
one of mine is deviated too, but it's was self inflicted when I was 15
I hit a snow bank at 75 miles an hour on a snow sled set up for racing, it would do 119 and that was back in 1970,,
my whole face got a little deviated too. :)

Fellows I hope to leave town for two weeks this Monday, the 13th. Bow season ya know.

Nick, I hope you can get an update here for the rest of our team real soon, please. The guys have all been cocked and locked for a long time now and have been very anxious to get started. All us have been willing to set things aside for this and I trust you are too.

I sure will miss the BF. It has been about 5 - 6 months since I've been to the camp and have not been without BF since. I think that fire place and the baseball playoffs will help me through it all for a few days. I'll try to bring you all back some venison. In the mean time you still got to put up with me til Monday .

I hope good success with the big ones Roger. You will need to come out of the woods a few times to get your BF fix. Nobody can go that long.

I talked to Nick. He is going to come through with a bar soon He said. If he doesnt I will. Now that I cant chase convicts I have 6 or 8 weeks off. Of coarse there may be a surgery in there somewhere.

Later Bro, Bruce, Be carefull!

Okay Bruce. I hope very much Nick follows through. I want his name on that blade too.

I have to go cold turkey on the BF thing - no computers there.

Michael, best luck and quick recovery, guy. Best of hunting to you, Roger! Dan, it sounds like you was next to roadkill with your accident. It pains me to say, but it looks like they did a pretty good job with your reconstruction. George, you got some good input on this? And yes, this colab knife is gonna fly, just some bumps in the road.

Hey Guys-

I'm still alive, things are just hectic (I'm learning they always are). I'm trying to work on about 10 orders at once, but I have been pulling time in there for this billet. The last one I couldn't get enough width out of.

This new one is looking good so far. I started with 30 layers, then "W'd" the billet, then stacked it 5 times. I wasn't happy with the look, so I doubled it. I forged that into a 1-1/4" round bar and twisted it.
Next I forged it flat and got it to 1-5/8 x 3/8" I'm going to do a deep ladder into it, and that should bring out those twisted W's when I forge it down flat.

fingers crossed.... :)
Nick

Thank you Nick for that update. I expect to be back about the 26th. Please keep the rest of team updated as things happen with your progress. I do not believe you need to worry about making it absolutely 5/32nd thick because I think I remember Dan Gray mentioning he has a surface grinder. I hope I have that right but at any rate I know one of us does from a previous post.
RL

great news :D
thanks Nick and I do have a surface grinder, just leaving enouph
to clean up will be good :D

I don't know what the status is on the Damascus, but I'm willing to purchase some, or donate some random pattern that I have coming from Bruce Evans if we need it.

I am still in, well watching now;) How does that mokume look now that it has aged awhile? Still ok? Man I hope so!

Anyway, let me know if you all need anything from me.

Thanks Michael
