Who's gotten their 5.1 Starter?

I expect full COLOR photos from everyone to hold me over until mine ships :D:p
Pretty stoked to see these hit the group in mass, lots of beautiful combinations showing up!

Alright, quick request per a comment on my review thread - Anybody have the CPM-20CV 5.1 in hand? Does anybody who has one ALSO have calipers to measure the behind-the-edge thickness (bevel shoulder) accurately? I am curious to know if the 20CV ones are just as thin as the 3V ones.

I agree it seems almost every scale/hardware combo looks awesome.

the sheath and uke 2.0 should be here sometime next week. I can't wait until I can walk around with my 5.1 strapped to my leg.

I don't have one, and only have the 3V on order. I'd be interested in this info as well.

Got mine in a few minutes ago. My older 4.1 came back with it after receiving a ferro notch and sharpening.
Initial impression: Holy Crap! That's a big knife!

Both are sharper than anything I have ever owned. Literally glides through copy paper with just the weight of the blade. I am thoroughly impressed.
They even threw in a new-style clip (with the bigger belt openings) for my 4.1 sheath.

Thank you Guy, Ellie and Christian for making a truly world-class product!

the side by side shot of the 5.1 & 4.1 has absolutely convince me i need a 4.1

...unless i see a 4.7 next to a 4.1 and convinced otherwise

I wish the new 3.5s were closer to being ready - I'd really like to see them side-by-side w/the 5.1. I've got a 3.5 starter on order and since it's slightly larger than the old version, but still slightly smaller than the old 4.1s, it just seems like it'll be a great companion blade

They should be, they are all part of the same production batch. The only variation would be from the different materials wear resistance during grinding, but that should be compensated for. The blueprint is the blueprint, regardless of steel type.

I was having a similar conversation with Guy last night: "I think I need a GSO-4.7, they have felt really perfect as I'm packing them up" "Really? I would have picked a GSO-4.1 for you. Look at these pictures" "I think I need a GSO-4.7. That is a picture on a computer, the GSO-4.7 feels right. The GSO-4.1 may change my mind later, but right now, GSO-4.7 all-day."

They should start cutting soon. It should only be a couple months after that until we can start picture updates.

Oh, and yes, tshirts have been thrown in Starter orders at random. We had hoped to be throwing them in all along, but it took a little longer than expected to get the screen printing equipment up and running. Christian is working on shirts today so we should have them in stock soon! He does have a screen for a plain SURVIVE! logo shirt, so there will probably be some of those available soon as well.

please keep me updated on your decision, as you have the benefit of being able to handle them. it's a tough call, from the specs it seems the 4.7 is about 1/4" larger, roughly, than the 4.1. but the new 4.1 is a little bigger than the old correct? I am looking for something a little less intimidating for edc. the 5.1 is my woods/hiking/survival knife, the 4.5 on order will go into my hunting pack, so i'm hoping either the 4.7 or 4.1 will replace or accompany my zt550, until the s!k folder of course, for edc.

Lol. Love it...."I need a GSO-4.7."

And, some of them are getting packed up!!!! :)

Here you go SpaceAce!! I got the same exact setup on the 4.7 and damn I'm glad I did!!

Wow, that looks awesome! I had almost settled for jade g10 for my 4.5 to-be-ordered, but now I might have to get bone linen... But of course it won't be the same "magic batch" I guess...

Anyone knows if bone linen discolors with use?
