I disagree that you portrayed them unfavorably, but understand your reticence. I too was immediately interested in which fire steel it was because the message conveyed to me was that it was worth the wait.

I am glad the correct sentiment was conveyed, the maker was Adam from AA Forge, I picked up one of his huntsman knives in ironwood (pictured) and loved it. I wanted to get a matching firesteel since he makes them and ordered through the site. At the time I didn't realize they were each custom made, and he had a bit of a supply issue. He was extremely communicative and thus i never felt the need to worry. I think my reason for bringing it up was to point out "it happens" I ended up with 2 firesteels from him, one with a black micarta center spacer and both are the most ergonomic and well finished I have (of about 7). At some point a firesteel is just a firesteel, not sure how "nice" they can get but these are about as nice as I can imagine
