Who's Interested in 9" Steel Disc's???

I feel as Erik does. Nathan makes a superb item when he makes anything. I doubt any commercial product will have the attention to detail and tolerances that his discs will. I have always thought that everything I got from him was a very good price.

Lets keep this on track. I am guilty of the above levity on another thread, so I will ask that folks try and hold back totally extraneous humor.

I have one of his curved platens, 1 of his with the radiused ends and 3 of his chillers, all are excellently made. When someone makes something like the chillers and ALL of the surfaces are imaculately finished it shows the makers dedication to prefection. I have no doubt that if he makes the disk they will be a couple steps above commercial quality and I will get one.

I might be interested in one, but I have a question. At the present time I only have a 1725rpm motor available for this application, so I am looking for feedback from you guys that run discs all the time. I know most of you probably have variable speed options and I'd like to find out how fast you end up turning them for flattening bevels or possibly tapering tangs. Is the 1725 rpm even in the ball park or is my money better spent elsewhere until such time as I can come up with speed control?

1725 is fine. I used one with 3-step pulleys on my KMG for years.

I would be down for one. I've been wanting to build a disc sander for some time. If Nathan is making these, I have no doubt they'll be the best discs available.
