Who's still ridin' their motorcycles?

I ride every day. 1/2 horsepower at 90 rpm, unlimited gas mileage.

I'd be willing to bet you couldn't make it around the block on 8 ounce of gasoline in the motor of that machine.:D Although with some cool clothes pins and cards you could get a neato sound...

Loud cards saves lives!!!!:D :D

I believe the question was "Who's still ridin' their motorcycles" not who's still riding their toys.

I ride whenever the temperature is above 50 (1991 HD Low Rider).

Hi All-

That's a pretty sweet Basso pictured above...and I'm wondering why there is a triple chainring on that puppy.

Like many others, when the kids started arriving I sold my bike.My last one was a '92 Fat Boy with lots of mods and go-fast goodies, and we parted ways in '02.Here in Atlantic Canada its starting to stay chilly all day long, and the puddles are iced over in the morning.Usually I wouldnt lay my bike up until December because of the odd mild day that pops up in November.April is the earliest I got out one year, but it's a gamble with the sand, salt and ice.May is really the comfortable time to get riding around here.

Played hookie from work on Sunday and rode to Mastic, CT with 4 others. Nice ride out, but cold getting home about 10 PM. 'bout 260 miles round trip

Went out for awhile today, ran some errands by the time I headed home I rolled on 'bout 60 miles.

Hey, anytime ridin' beats drivin', it's weather like this makes ya appreciate a full fairing with a big windshield.

Hi All-

I'm good down to around the mid-40's or so. Below that it starts getting painful without frequent breaks for hot coffee. What I would give for heated grips (like BMW offers...) and a plug-in for a heated vest as OEM straight from the factory! As long as I could be fairly certain not to encounter ice on the roadways I would darn near ride year-round...

I think you're right. 8 oz. of gasoline would make the engine pretty sick.:barf:

To have a wide range of gearing, of course. Thanks. It is a Basso Gap with Campagnolo Chorus drive train. Classic steel Italian bike. It is probably my favorite.

I was kinda embarassed at first to say I had heated grips...until that 200 mile round trip to Montauk at about 25-28 degrees. I wired in a plug as well, but haven't bought any 'lectric clothes yet. Have a really good riding suit, balacava, and layers... still cold but do-able with the right mind-set. I still think the heated seat is over-kill, and I won't use a radio or inter-com's either 'ala the GoldWing', but that's just me...

I put a set of Hot Grips on my FLHT, they work great and are about $100. They have 2 levels of heat or you can opt for the "heat-troller" to adjust them incrementally. Well worth it IMHO.

My father owns a motorcycle shop in Louisiana. We haven't been out riding lately. Right now in Southern Louisiana the traffic is kinda crazy, and everwhere you look there are large trucks so...

If you own a Harley check us out!:D

The temperature hit 52 degrees today and I got 71 miles in. :D

The first I got to ride in 3 weeks.

Mild 50 degree day today so I rode my Vespa PX150 for a couple of hours. I'll take it every week or so if I can get a day in the 40's, but at this point in my life I don't thaw out as fast as I used to!

Day after Thanksgiving, I rode NM Hwy 555 to it's termination point, about 35 miles west of Raton. Many highway maps don't even show Hwy 555, but its' there. It used to dead-end at the coal mine entrance; now it just dead-ends.

70 miles all together. Nice day, sunny and mostly warm. Had a very close call when midway around a canyon curve was a 100' stretch of ice...

I went out last Saturday, 50 degrees in NE PA, did about 40 miles.

Black ice is real dangerous out here, the road can look fine and as you ride into the shadow of the mountians through the valleys you could be riding ove the black ice and not even know it till you hit the brakes or start to turn.

Hey, what are you guys using for winter riding gloves?

I use light leather gloves because the heated grips work great. In the real cold, I have a pair of insulated gauntlets that go over the jacket. Not much feel thru to the grips though, so I don't really like them. As soon as I over this sick, I'm going to ride in to NYC to see the tree one night.
