whose warranties cover unintentional abuse/breakage?

This sure puts the "war" in warranty.

Cliff's not perfect, but he is pretty good. And the same goes for most of the others - including Mick Strider.

I agree with Kohai999, it's great that we have the chance to converse with great knife makers on these forums like Mick, Jerry, Sal, and others. Thank you all for this. We all know that dealling with aholes on the net can get hard at times but I hope dealling with all the other great people far out weighs it for you guys.
 
Attempting to chop concrete with a knife? In my view shows no love of knives or respect for the workers who make the knives. If I reported to my customers in a knife review that I attempted to chop concrete I'd lose all credibility and probably be certified as mentally incompetent.

My insightful question is this: Whats a football bat? :)

Is it the infamous Puffer bat that inflates when threatened? Or is it the less than succsesful wooden football that caused several deaths by heading the ball in the 1930's? :p

I am of course asking this question after the post in the previous page. Oh and who ever swore at me and gave me neg feedback... Waaa Waaaa gooogoo gaaagaaa :rolleyes:

Could you please provide links or direct quotes from Mick or Duane or Strider Knives, wherein he promotes his knives being able to withstand a specific usage (which you then tested and thereby functionally damaged his knives)?

Could you also please provide links and or direct quotes wherein Mick asked you to review the WB? And could you also please provide links or direct quotes wherein Mick's or Duane's original response to your reported results was uncivil?

If Cliff is able to provide the links or quotes I request above, could you then please explain why major knife damage that was caused by duplicating promotions should not be covered by the warranty in the usual (i.e. "unmarked", "non-voided") way? Also, in this case, could you please explain how you think those promotions should have been interpreted, if other than as usage that the knife should be expected to withstand?

Guys I say we let this one die.. Simply fact is I have NO DOUBT that if I had a problem with my Striders, Busses, or Spydercos that they would take care of me. I would bet the worst I would be looking at is the cost of shipping.

For this thread to go on any further is simply a waste of bandwidth. :rolleyes:
 
I agree with Evolute. If Cliff can show proof that Strider used these tests to market his knives, and then when they were duplicated called foul, the onus is on Mick.

So, Cliff, let's see some documentation and settle this.

I don't want to see this thread die, I want to see it settled. This has been brewing for some time between Strider and Cliff. If Cliff provides the above stated proof it will go a long way. Personally I've never seen it, perhaps somone could provide a link?

I don't Bro. After drinking a case [or two:D ] of beer, I hopped on my wife's lap and danced like a freakin fool. All I got was bitch slapped for crushing her pelvis and a week of sleeping on the couch.

I see no joy in lap dances, unless I am doing it wrong!!:confused: :p :D

And Mr. Mick; you owe me for a knife sir. After dropping an MFS on my big toe and requiring five sutures to stop bleeding, I threw the knife in my wood stove for an hour. I then pivoted a Cat D-9 on it for another hour and then froze it for a week and then back in the wood stove again.

The handle wrap is shot, the steel's temper is shot, and the finish is shot. I cannot believe you WILL NOT warranty this knife, Damn!!!! It is all Strider's fault for building a knife that cuts flesh

I know you had Paul Bos put fire to some of your knives and still honored the warranty, and I know it gets cold where he lives also. Why won't you honor your warranty, why, why, why??????

When I bought my Dakota, I spent a lot of time on the Dodge Dakota forums(like over a year) and never saw anybody from Daimler Chrysler post one way or the other. Still makes me wonder, because it would have gained a lot of points for DC to have had a presence on that forum. Make the customers feel like you care, and all.

What constitutes knife abuse?

1. Penetration of an underage concrete block.
2. Having Knife contact with an unwilling steel pipe.
3. Gross violation of a knife blade.
4. Displaying a naked knife in public.
5. Performing illicit acts with a knife blade.
6. Displaying or having possession of self abused knives.
7. Seeking to redeem a knife warranty without a STAMP of approval.
