Personally, I just don't get it. First of all, I own several Mantis knives, and have nothing but good things to say about them. The ones that I have are made from 420HC, which I know a lot of people think is cheap crap. Well, I don't, It works quite well for me. Yeah, I know it's not one of the new super steels, but the price also reflects that. By the way, Mantis does make some of their models from some really high-end steels. Such as S30V, BG-42, 154-CM and so on. The customer service can't be beat. How many knife companies do you know of, where the owner and CEO of the company will take the time to deal with you personally? This guy will talk to any of his customers about anything, he's a really great guy. I know a lot of people did not like the "email" that was sent out to the militia members. Which, in fact, was a "confidential" email. Obviously, the militia has a traitor or two. So what, what's the big deal? If you read the email, no one was asked to do anything but speak honestly about their knives, and experience with the General, and his company. 99.9% of the customers are VERY happy with their knives, and the customer service. So he asked us to talk about it , is there something wrong with that? He did not ask anyone to lie, exagerate, or try to sell anything. How is that considered spamming? Is it so wrong to want people to be aware of your company and products? Because that's all it was, a bussiness owner trying to make potential customers aware of how great his knives are. If you owned a new knife company, wouldn't you want as many people to know about your knives as possible? I would. Think what you will about Mantis, but in all reality, they are great knives, at great prices. The owner, Jared West is a great guy. He's just a knife lover like the rest of us. Wouldn't all of us love to be able to have our own knife company? I'm sure that each and everyone of us has dreamed of it at one time or another. His dream has come true, he made it happen. He has come a long way in the last two years since Mantis was formed. You gotta give him credit for that. He has some of the coolest designs I have ever seen. And in my opinion, that's just what the knife industry needed, something new and interesting instead of the same old boring designs with new handle materials. I think Mantis Knives rock, and so do a lot of others. We may be the minority at the moment, but that will change. Mantis has a great future ahead of it. As a loyal Mantis Militia Member, I'm going to be right there in the front lines when it all goes down. Where will you be?
