This is a thread mostly for the Beckerheads out there, but anyone can chime in.

Why do you choose Becker knives???

I'm new to them and as it sits right now I have only two Becker knives; the BK13 and BK14. For the longest time I was buying all kinds of knives hoping that one of them might be an awesome knife. Now that I've discovered the awesomeness of Beckers I don't think that I will ever buy any other kind of knife. You see I'm a common man. I don't have a lot of money to spend on those other knives out there. So with that said I love these Becker knives for three reasons;

1. because they are reasonably priced.
2. they are great quality.
3. because they are made in America!

The reason I like them is design, trustworthy, price, customer service, custom options and they just look damn tuff.

While I usually always us my beckers, I also like Esee.
These are the only two companies of fixed blades I own anymore.

I have a couple of folders but don't consider them anything special....

Best knife made for the money
Great, great designs with users in mind, not the fashionistas
Ethan is a friend of mine:D

For the money who's better.
NOBODY PERIOD.
I love the BK2 and 9.
Ethan seems like a great guy.
I also like Esee and own the RC6.

Had not even heard of Becker Knife and Tool 2 months ago

I was getting serious about buying a survival knife for my hikes and started to do my research.

for the price, customizing and overall ruggedness you cannot beat the Becker.

and it goes good with beer.

Exactly. I may sound harsh at times but that's were it's at. I buy Becker and promote Becker because they are tough, well thought out\useful, and often deadly cool looking. I just have to make sure that I get the model that suits my needs best. And luckily there are many models to choose from, and more coming I hear.

Because...

...they are the best buy for the money...and maybe at any price point
...my BK2 is way more comfy than about anything
...who doesn't like 1095
...the forum is great
...you aren't paying for hype

Hey Guys....

I gotta say this has been a REALLY fun read for me......Thanks.....

All Best....

* I love the way they look - something about that handle just seems right.
* They are built for serious use.
* They scream "value".

I see no conflict of interest. Analogous to appreciating different women for their own unique charms. I'd love to see an RC6 laying in my little heap of knives also. At the same time I'm pumped to see what's coming out from Becker soon.

because i've been stalking Ethan since the early 80s? :)

I have had a Camillus marine combat knife since I was 11. It is my most prized possession, but sadly it is past it's prime. The leather stacked handle is loose, I didn't take near good enough care of it, and it needs to rest, it has done enough.

I found out Camillus had gone under, and was looking for a good replacement. I saw something at some point that someone had said about the County Comm breacher bar looking like a TacTool, so I checked it out, and thought the TacTool was awesome. Not only did this thing look like it could chop a cinder block in half, it was made by a guy whose stuff used to be through Camillus, and I knew most of their stuff was decent quality back then, and I know Kabar has decent quality stuff now, and the TacTool was retard strong, so I said hellz yes, I want it.

It didn't work out, I never use it, but I love the fact that I have it. The BK2 was the choice for the next knife though, after much debate between it and the BK7. I went with the 2, and I couldn't be happier. This thing made me feel like that day 19 years ago and my dad let me get that Camillus. I lit up light Christmas, and I can tell you now, I may buy other knives, but I am always going to come back for more Beckers. Love em.

Why Becker? There is plenty of 1095 steel being used in the industry. There are plenty of hard-use knives on the market. There are plenty of excellent warranties being offered as well. BUT! There is only ONE! Ethan Becker and if you ever get the chance to meet him, you will begin to look at his line of knives in a totally different way.

Beckers are simple, strong, made in the USA, and I like modding them.
Apparently Esee knives have weak screws that strip easily..(thats just what I heard) but I like taking off my Becker handles and stripping the yucky black stuff off, and then making my own grips, or applying some Kabar micarta goodness..(just a day or so..oh yeah)
