Why Becker?

For me tried and true no frills designs that won't break the average man. Made to get the job done and wants to come back for more.

Fantastic knives, made in the good old USA, amazing value, great steel, perfect design, NO SILLY SURVIVAL PANTIES :jerkit::D

I have knives...a lot of knives...and some I use and some I look at and play with. The Beckers are tools for using. Since I got a BK&T Brute many years ago and it became my no.1 outdoor blade, I have considered the Beckers to be serious using steel. They are tough and well made. The designs are sensible and not full of useless features. They are American made and reasonably priced. I take care of mine but they are not so expensive that I hate to use them. I put them in the same class as the two Entrek knives I have. They are very plain but tough and made in America and a lot of knife for the money...I look forward to getting another Becker...maybe a BK9...

My initial interest came from the BK2. I loved the thickness of it and it seemed like a knife that you could put into action without having to worry about it. They are great knives for what you pay, practical, and don't look like they came out of the Saw movie series, or any other crazy horror movie with an impractical knife.

When I bought my BK2 I was blown away with the value you get for your dollar. Everybody I show the bk2 to, Wants one. What a great knife.
PS: I all so got a little of Ethans insight watching the equip2endure youtube vid's, Sealed the deal on buying the knife.

That was a great vid. Adam done real well, and Ethan is a great, funny, and smart (VERY SMART) guy.

Hmmm...... frills might possibly enhance water filtration.... if Becker ever produces survival panties they had better be ULTIMATE Survival Panties, frills and all. :foot:

Beckers are utilitarian in method by design.

They are the knife worlds version of all things great for the common person.

Like the Volkswagen Bug or the Willys Jeep, like the best of John Brownings designs the Hi-Power, 1886 Winchester, 1897 Shotgun or 1911 Colt the Beckers didn't invent the blade they revolutionized it.

Hi, I'm not a Beckerhead but I would like to be one someday if I ever complete the requirements, but I am a true Becker user and love my BK-2 very much.

I've had my BK-2 for a while now I use it daily. I don't buy knives to collect, I just buy what I need for use, their tools for me. If I own a knife and it doesn't work for me I try to find one what will and ever since I got my BK-2 I haven't had a need to purchase another knife. My BK-2 does everything I ask it to do and more. And how can you beat the price, durability and customer support. The way things are going now I may never need another knife again. Hopefully if the finances get better I might indulge myself and purchase a another Becker.

I remember first seeing Beckers a few years ago on a shop's website and thinking that they had that super-cool, basic, no-frills or silliness look to them. I think that was near the end of the Camillus days as the selection was greater (I think). Fast forward a few years and I discover BladeForums and that Becker are now made by Ka-Bar, but are just as cool. So now I have two Beckers, and I want MORE!

They're not so inexpensive over here, nor are they as common and I think that they'd upset a few of the British bushcrafters (not to mention civilians, who think that nobody ever needs a knife), but I like them.

Value is deffinately a factor for me, I picked up a BK11 as my first and have been very happy with it over the years for the price I paid for it.

The blade shape of the BK11/14, 2 and 9 really speak to me. Strong tip, tall blade, lots of usable edge, and a great handle design are what stand out to me. I thought about getting a Junglas instead of my BK9, but blade shape is what really sold me on the 9. And the initial cost was deffinately a bonus.

The warranty is another big plus for Becker knives

They're well designed knives, that are truly affordable

I think the slogan says it best.
Becker Knives Work for a Living!
Becker's are working knives for the working man. Unpretentious honest knives, by an honest designer, made by an honest company.

Besides they go well with my Becker Ranger Pack.

Eons ago I ordered a Camillus BK2 on a whim and because it was an incredible sale. When I opened the box I was amazed by the size and weight, then I tossed it in a drawer. Back at that time I was immersed in the ultra light thing and doing as many miles as possible on the trail. Cold camp, eating gorp, brushing my teeth with a cut off tooth brush, and sleeping on a thee foot long foam mat under a poncho. It was okay for what it was, and you get in decent shape, you’re outside…yada, yada. I’m older now, maybe wiser (maybe not), and like the pleasures of a comfortable pace and a comfortable camp. It’s not the getting there as much as the being there. Dug out the BK2, took it on an overnighter and found out how it actually was handy for a million things around the campsite. I was amazed by it for the second time. Still have it and have added a few others because quite simply they are great tools and a joy to use. Now I carry a bigass Gregory pack stuffed with everything I enjoy when I get there. Ten leisurely miles is a good day. A book, a comfy hammock and bag, good food, some good sippin‘ bourbon, and a brand new BK2 to do any damn thing I need a knife to do. All the reasons posted in this thread are good ones. Great designs, good materials and attention to detail, solid people behind them. But the sheer fun factor (for me) is the best reason to buy one.

This is a thread mostly for the Beckerheads out there, but anyone can chime in.

Why do you choose Becker knives???

I'm new to them and as it sits right now I have only two Becker knives; the BK13 and BK14. For the longest time I was buying all kinds of knives hoping that one of them might be an awesome knife. Now that I've discovered the awesomeness of Beckers I don't think that I will ever buy any other kind of knife. You see I'm a common man. I don't have a lot of money to spend on those other knives out there. So with that said I love these Becker knives for three reasons;

1. because they are reasonably priced.
2. they are great quality.
3. because they are made in America!

4. all of the above

Reason why I use Beckers: Affordability, Quality, Reliability you get more knife than what you pay for. The company takes pride in the product and goes above and beyond customer service so that their customers are happy. Plus the black knives go well with my ninja suit :)

I researched for quite a while on good blades and just about every where the Becker or Esee name came up. I chose Becker for the Grip, durability, design, heat treating, made in the US, the amount of positive feedback on Bladeforums and the fact that Ethan Becker posts here. That to me states: "Ethan, like his products are genuine."

IT GOES GOOD WITH DEER!!!!!.......BK2, TENDERLOIN AND BACKSTRAPS.... and this ain't no Old Milwaukee commercial, .... but it don't get no better than this......;)..... and Ethan's earthiness...... :D
