Why Buy a CRK?

You clearly missed the point of his post....

I reiterated what he said and re-enforced it with prior knowledge to the processes involved. If anyone missed anything it was you. The question would be why would you attempt a call out that failed miserably?

No I think you're missing the point.

Unless you have the blueprints from Chris Reeve knives and the blueprints from the Brand-X you're comparing too you are not speaking from authority.

You are instead expressing opinion as fact.

If this was a motivational poster you'd be the talking instead of listening guy.

Have you picked out a name for your next appearance here?

No that's the only point that you gleaned from the post but that's not the entire point.
In reality you would only need two examples from two different batches of each product to make a comparison to determine variables of consistency you wouldn't need blueprints but it wouldn't hurt.

Three hundred and some sixty days early for April One (in reality at least).

Stop the pissing contests and just answer the question.

Frank's advice is relevant to so many threads.

If you like the style, like the quality, are okay with the price....

Then why NOT try out a CRK? This criteria fits so many brands and models, that it's really self-evident.

It's like "Why buy a Toyota" and "Why buy a Reece's Peanut Butter Cup" et cetera, et cetera.

I think that as a knife knut you definitely owe it to yourself to at least pick one up at a show or dealership and check it out...

Now I've answered and will hereby stop posting in the thread forthwith.

A couple more reasons ;)

Just to add to this....

If you are a gold member here you can buy a used crk, give it a try, and if you find it isn't for you, sell it for little to no loss (like a gold member test drive). You might be out shipping and insurance. That seems like such a small price to find out for yourself if you like one of the most iconic knives in the industry.

That was then this is now, watch what happens over the next few years.

Your level of dismissiveness towards a tremendously high level of achievement tells us all we need to know about how much your opinion is worth*.

*Spoiler alert: it's worthless. Your opinion is worth less than the pixels being lit up to display your post.

He said, “I’m wrong now but just wait, I might be right in the future.” How can you take issue with that?;)

I like everything about them conceptually (with price being the exception), but functionally the Sebenza and I did not get along. That's okay though plenty of people love them, and for good reason. As I read these threads I always notice lots of love for the brand and lots of dislike for the people who love them, but I have never really seen hate for the knife itself. Pretty much everyone agrees its a nice, well built knife, it just may not be your cup o tea. Bottom line is if the knife appeals to you then get it, and if I doesn't then don't. Besides if you and it don't get along like the position I found myself in, then just sell the thing and move along. No need for all the drama.

What you're witnessing is a pretty standard thing these days, wherein people display their abject immaturity by having to badmouth something they don't personally like, as well as the the people who like that said thing. "XYZ is dumb, and anyone who likes it must be fanboys!" See, that's not as dramatic as "XYZ? Nah, they're just not for me" and moving on, like an adult. You have to make sure that folks know that hey, like XYZ if you want, just as long as you're aware that you're wrong and I'm right. Typical dramatically immature response, really.

Ultimately, CRK threads generate a lot of drama for this reason.

I get what your saying here. While most cannot determine small differences in machining with similar parts in hand some of us can. With finish work is quite easy to see if there are or are not discerning differences.
For me it's very easy to see differences in finely finished items whether it be knives, guns, watches or pool cues and jewelry.
After running a cnc for 4 years making precision led parts for the sign industry 10 years ago and before that making precision pool cue parts on manual and cnc lathe, designing and casting parts for a jeweler to currently hobbying in watch repair and some knifemaking, plus learning gunsmithing when I was younger, it's all about attention to detail and precision.
Some look at an item and say that's quality without knowing how to determine why, they just take it for granted from being told but not knowing what makes it so.

Hmmm...intriguing. So, you have an eye for minute detail, and have dabbled in making things yourself, eh? Care to show us some of those things? I mean, I would expect someone with such a high level of ability in seeing differences in "finely finished items", it could lead to the assumption that your own produced items are of an exceptional level of quality, right?

So, let's see it. Four years running a CNC machine, and a shaky goal-posts moving argument (It went from plenty of other people outdoing CRK now, to "Well, soooooonnnnn" they will be!) and you'll just have to forgive me if I'm of the certainty that you don't know what you're talking about.

knarfeng knarfeng I didn't see your post until I got to this page, will comply.
