Why do people delete the price when they sell a knife?

There are multiple reasons why a listed price doesn’t necessarily reflect current price and shouldn't be used at a measuring stick.

Good point, and a perfect example of that is the Spyderco Paramilitary sprint run in D2. When they were in production just a couple of years ago it seems you couldn't hardly give a NIB one away. I decided I didn't like mine the first day I got it and immediately put it up for sale. I'm not positive, but I think I might have gotten $90 out of it. Anybody want to use that as their baseline for pricing their own NIB example today? Didn't think so.

The people lobbying for a rule crack me up. They remind me of people who campaign to get on neighborhood association boards so they can drive around and cite people for parking on the street or leaving their garage doors open. Not every thing is everyone else's business, public forum or not.

Oh....one last point. If you really, really, really want to know what a knife sold for and the price has been deleted.....just send a PM to the seller and ask. If he wants to tell you, he will. If he doesn't want to tell you, he won't :)

And the last thing I will say (because this happened recently) is that many times the Buyer asks me to delete the price. Many buy the knives for them, and not for the public. Same rationale as PMing someone about a knife instead of posting that you want it. People like their privacy and don't want a lot of joe jacks talking about how much they paid.

If you don't have a paid membership you can't send a PM.
