Why do protestors always have a fire going?

Kind of annoys me people say it's whining. It's like saying the our founding fathers were whiners. The Boston Tea Party was a protest. If you don't take a stand for things you will lose them or never make anything better. Just because someone has something better then we do doesn't make them whiners because they want to keep it better. Instead of trying to bring people down to your level or conditions we should all strive to have better.

Honestly working after 60 if it's not your choice is crap, if you want my opinion. I work construction and it's not easy on your body by any means. Most of the time it's because of divorces but seeing the guys still working in their mid 60's to 70's is sad. They have bad backs, knees and so on. Most take pain pills to make it through the day. That is not the life anyone should have.

Just because you have to work until your 70 doesn't make it right. Or make someone a whiner because they don't want to. It's the squeaky wheel that gets the grease. Those who don't take a stand are the ones that lose things.
 
To the people suspecting the fires are started by the media to get dramatic pictures:

In Europe at least, the media is generally pretty left wing, and it so happens that most demonstrators who light fires and vandalize are usually also radically left wing. Hence the "peaceful demonstrator" stupidity often portrayed in the European media.

It always irritated me that when right wing extremists in Europe have a pretty peaceful thing going on, the media will mention someone sneezing as a hate crime, but once the left wing extremists show up and start throwing bricks they are valiant young intellectuals who are just expressing their opinions.

Extremism is extremism, and starting fires in the street should get cracked down on immediately by cops in riot gear with bulldozers and water cannons :P

You really don't understand sarcasm do you? I don't think anyone really thinks the media started the fires........
 
Hell, this thread was simply a joke that i started. Lighten up guys. Not meant to be any type of political thread or to initiate a debate of any kind. I guess I should have just posted the question: why do most rednecks in Alabama own sheep?
 
Did I say "whiners" ? Oh I meant to type "winers". i mean they had to be pretty drunk to dump that much tea into the harbor huh?:) I think Ken just needs to sit around one of the camp fires with the sheep...er...girls or something. Lighten up guys....none of this is serious. We are only allowing our inner rednecks to escape for a brief thread:)

They use the fire to send smoke signals to call in reinforcements. Either that or it's for smores.
