Why do ya love SwampRats ?

I love how Swamp Rat always seems to go back to the classic bowie design. Sure the HRLM, Chopweiler, and Desert Jack are all drop points, but if you look at the Ratweiler, Rat Mastiff, Battle Rat, Camp Tramp, Ratmandu, ect. they all have that classic bowie blade profile. Blade profile isn't so much a concern for other people, but it makes a huge difference to me!

Hell, I just got back from the Easton show where I didn't even buy any INFI! I only bought two Swamp Rat M9 CGs  Reviews to come fellas

The Howling Rat was first for me - I still have it. For me, overall perfection in a do-it-all blade is still the Ratweiler in SR101.

Two Rats will always be among my permanent collection: an original, scuffed up Ratweiler and an equivalent Chopweiler.

Until recently I was unaware that busse/bussekin blades existed. A friend picked up a scrapyard regulator, and upon examining it I was immediately enthralled. Upon digging a little deeper and doing some research I stumbled upon Busse, then Swamprat.
At the time Eric's glorious offering just so happened to be the exceptional Rodent Waki. With a little help from Rat Chat I figured out the ordering process and placed my order for two Black Micarta/Black Blades.
I could hardly contain my anticipation waiting for the first members of my Rat Pack. When they arrived I immediately commenced to felling any timber in the immediate area, and oh how they chop, slice, and stab.
Until this point in my life I had never experienced a blade that can power through limb after limb, and still shave after a long day of play.:D
This is why I love Swamp Rat. I only have the two wakis, but have plans for many rats, dogs, and hogs to come.

Here's my salute and appreciation for an excellent company that produces excellent products, long live the Rats!

p.s. I have my eye on an M6 to add to the family next! In the meantime lookout brush, the waki is coming!

Well said brother, Sharp suckers are'nt they.

My first Rat/Bussekin blade was a Weiler....

It has been lovlingly abused and used and has always come back for more. Since then, I have had some Rats come and go, and some Busses come and go, but the older Rat collection will be here to stay. Ratweiler, Ratmastiff, Ratdaddy, Rathunter, DesertRat, SARRat, Safari Skinner, Camp Tramp, Battle Rat, Ratchet, HRLM, RMD, Swamp Wardens, and the Waki round things out. To me, some of those represent the essence of Swamp Rat blades.

I'm relatively new to the swamp but my collection is growing, here it is with some of its Busse relatives.

One day my collection will be as boss as some of the others here, one day.

For most of the time I've been into knives, I'd been after ultimate sharpness. This led me to things like Murray Carter's knives. Tough knives never really appealed to me, and frankly most "hard use/tough knife" internet content seemed (still does) like a mall-ninja, wanna-be, YouTube affectation.

Last summer, I was introduced to Swamp Rat by a friend who is an actual hard user with a SAR background. He lent me his classic Gen 1 Howling Rat for the last 500 miles of a 2700 mile hike I was on. I was amazed by the amount of abuse it could take.

When I finished the hike, I ordered myself a new RMD and Swamp Warden (still looking for my own Gen 1 Howler). It was then that I discovered that when I convexed these amazingly tough knives, they took a remarkably keen edge, rivaling any steel I've used. I've always liked how sharp 52100 can get, and when given the SR101 heat treat, it is as good as I've seen.

Suddenly, sharp or tough (choose one) became sharp and tough. I was hooked.

Thanks! I'm actually doing pretty good with my EDC Warden in neck kydex, happily hunting for for a Resiprene Howler. I'm curious what the next Swamp Rat is, but my hobby fund is seriously depleted these days anyway.

I love Swamp Rat knives for 3 main reasons:
1. Among the toughest and best looking knives on the planet - well designed, built and ever-lasting.
2. Very good value for money.
3. Fantastic customer service.

There are more reasons but that is enough for now...

My first Rat was the HRLM....man is it tough !

I love SRKW knives because they are 100% dependable and reliable...and they rock !

I love Ironwolf's workplace pics - they are saved on my PC. I hadn't seen the hose and hose coupling ones before.
