why do you carry

I carry a knife on me everyday for the specific reason of I use it more than any other thing that I have. And it is always there for me no matter when I need it.

I always have a use for a knife, and I use mine at work constantly

There are tons of reasons to carry a knife. I carry one for the utility (I'd love to say for self defense, but that's not why I carry one), and just because I love knives! Not much else to it really, I feel naked without at least 2 of them. When people ask me why I carry a knife (non knife people) I simply reply "because I can". Let's be honest, carrying a big beefy folder is just fun..

I carry a knife because it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

I've got a SAK on my keychain that honestly can handle a lot of small cutting tasks.

Eating at our local diner the napkin box did not pop up the next napkin and the slot was too skinny for my fingers. So I slid my knife blade in and forced out the next napkin.
Had a steak sandwich. By definition it was not the most tender of steak. So I used my knife to cut the steak into bite size pieces. The butter knife supplied would not work.
There's always some use for a knife.

For the same reason I wear a snakeskin jacket: It's a symbol of my individuality and my belief in personal freedom.

Just kidding.
In case I need to cut something.

I carry a knife because it is the first tool, the primal tool, the tool we used as we became fully man. Sharpened rocks were the first objects infused with power we made and manufactured. Western civilization was developed as we....

OK, OK, it's just boys and their toys.

Same thing really.

I've carried a knife since my grandfather gave me my first Trapper when I was six. It's become a part of who I am and I'm always needing a knife every day. I work in a public school system where knives are "forbidden", but I carry a SAK which I always say is a tool. Haven't gotten my wrist slapped in over 20 years.

I'm not sure which one of these is the more influential reason why I carry a knife but I think I have them in the right order for most days. However, almost everytime I leave the house just to go to the grocery store, I make sure to grab my Adamas (biggest knife I own). Still not sure why it has to be the Adamas for grocery shopping, but I do it anyways.

1. Utility Purposes

2. Warm and Fuzzy

I carry a knife to cut things, much in the same way that I carry a flashlight to see in the dark.

My wife asked me this I explained if nothing else to me it's like jewelry for men I just like to have two of them on me even if I won't use them " which I always do" I just like to look at them and fondle them.

It's a shame you have such concern for the breed even on the other side of the world. I've been visiting the pound every few weeks recently looking for the right small dog. Poor pits, and pit-mixes take up the most space there.
