why do you carry

Because I was once told every man should carry a knife.

Because quite literally you may need to extract yourself or somebody else from a burning car with jammed seatbelts, been there.

You never know when you need to free a pelican from being tangled and stranded by a large fish on a fishing line... fun times.

When I first got a scout knife as a boy , I found that carrying a knife was very useful. I still think so.

It's a shame you have such concern for the breed even on the other side of the world. I've been visiting the pound every few weeks recently looking for the right small dog. Poor pits, and pit-mixes take up the most space there.

(( this picture was way off topic ))

As a friend once said to me....."I carry a knife because you never know when you might need an edge..."

Made sense over 20 years ago....still makes sense today.

Because my great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather (on my mother's side) invented the knife.

I'm just carrying on the family tradition.

Because I hate to borrow things, and the one thing I would always need to borrow was a knife. There are multiple times a day that I need to cut something it seems.

I carry a knife if I have to cut something or open a box,a letter.if a man has his pants on he should have a knife that's how it was put to me

I have multiple blades on me at all times, mainly because I just wuv those wittle guys sooo dawrn much!!

Lol, I'm obsessed w/ knives. I use them all the time for personal and work-related tasks. Also, I have them for self defense. If a crackhead wants to try to steal my wallet, he's gonna get a trip to the icu instead ;)

My grandfather once explained to me that every other apex preditor in nature has the equivalent of a knife " built in" where Man does not, and therefore we must carry knives with us. I was 8, and carried a knife with me ever since - I can't be without one without feeling out of sorts.

You must be Sal Glesser's grandkid. :)

I struggle with how to carry my 3 most used tools. 1) 4" bench vise (55 pounds), 2) 24oz ball pein hammer 3) Slipjoint knife. #1 I can't carry very far without getting a hernia. #2 doesn't quite fit in my pocket. So I carry a knife, and I improvise when I need a hammer and a vise.

Same here, neighbor. My Uncle Ted once told me that there are three things a man should always have with him: a sharp knife, a clean handkerchief, and a good pistol. And I've bee following his excellent advice ever since....
