why does spyderco use the outline of a tick for their logo?

What do you expect. Spyderco's first knife shared its name with a Communist newspaper. It's second had a name that's British slang for a homosexual. Then there's the Dodo.

Thank God they're better at designing knives than dreaming up names and logos.

...well that went somewhere different pretty damn quick.

I'm developing a red bulls eye rash on my hand. I think it must be from handling my Spyderco Chinook. It should have come with a warning label.

Lol. I'll take the Chinook off your hands if you need, I can handle the occasional dose of doxycycline.

I really want to keep it. Maybe I''l try some real thin tactical gloves. I wonder if there was any Avian flu cases from the Byrd knives?

Try googling "spyder racing cars" and you will get your answer. With a name like "Father Hudson", I would have thought you'd be old enough to remember the 60's. :D I sure do.

I have had several people ask me why the logo looks like a tick. I have to agree that it looks tick-ish.

We needed a "cute" spyder. (our knives were the first "tactical" knives) One of our crew came up with the idea back in the early 80's. Seemed like a good idea at the time.
