Got my truck fixed. Very happy with the mechanical work. Small local shop, maybe 3 mechanics, administrator, and probably an owner (that I've never met).

Mechanic smoked in my car, or reeked so badly that I can smell it two days later. Holy crap.
ASTOUNDED at the forum responses to similar complaints saying 'just relax'.... Guess they don't live with a cancer patient.
So I found a research paper through the National Institute of Health website that reveals smoking in a car equates to a 7-10% resale value hit.

I called the office, complained, was assured they would make sure it never happens again. That's fine. I'm not looking for restitution or anything. The stench will probably be gone in a week. But I'm going to drop off a printed copy of this article on the way home. It is DAMAGE to the value of a vehicle, dammit, nevermind that I have to spend an hour a day in someone else's poisonous stench.

*GRRRRRR*
Had an old truck worked on once when I was a teen, my dad picked it for a test drive, within a couple blocks the whole cab filled with smoke... Apparently one of the mechanics dropped a cigarette down onto the engine somewhere... Needless to say dad wasn't happy. However, I was working at a pool hall at the time (and was secretly smoking) didnt bother me much lol.

There's room for both :D

That's true. Back in the day I noticed that if I smoked before going out drinking, it would be a fun night. But if I got drunk first and then smoked... holy crap, who knows what might happen

Now if you really want to get giggly and couch-locked, take a few grams of good bud and soak it in a bottle of good whiskey (at least 100 proof) for a couple days. Strain the weed out with coffee filters and have a shot or three of the booze. You better have snacks and the TV remote handy before you start, cuz you ain't going anywhere for a while... :p

You know what I hate? When the forum f**ks up when I hit submit reply.

Anyway, I hate cigarette smoke and I would be pissed if someone smoked in my truck.

Even though I'm a smoker I agree that it's very rude to smoke in someone else's house or vehicle. I'd be mad, too.

There was even a GB&U thread sometime back where a buyer was ticked off because the package he got smelled like cigarette smoke... OK, maybe that's a bit much. I hope no one who buys from me is allergic to cats or dogs.... :p

Why did the reply box disappear? Now i have to hit reply to thread to post.... I think someone has been screwing with my computer or something. Its like my settings have been changed. Not just the reply box either, the last few days things have been fishy. And not in a cute finding nemo way either.

yep, this is how they made cannabis medicines pre 1930's. 1-2 grams of bud to 1oz of 100 proof(or higher) alcohol.

works even better if you heat the mixture for an hour

Totally NOT cool. Fortunately, we have a great repair garage within walking distance of our house. Never done me wrong or smoked in my vehicle in 15 years of going there.

Happening to us all, brah. I guess it can't work flawlessly all the time.....or even most of the time.

Never really cared about Tops knives but they are making a BOB folder. I'm probably not going to be as interested when I see the price.

That folder does look pretty cool, but I don't care for folders of that size.

You... dammit!

I'm still curious about pricing on the stainless Tibo.

I've been going to these guys for several years, and this is the first time. Walking distance too, I mean... come on now.

I wonder if removing the default reply box is reducing the server load. LOTS of lurkers don't need to load the extra widgets and javascript.

That, sucks! I think I found one that I like EVEN better though. And it's legit Made In the US. This one is actually quite quite nice!

Yea... About that.... My coozie says "old mexico." And I'm real curious about the stainless Tibos.
Ask Brian about it. It's something he has put his stamp of approval on. Which is awesome since it's HIS design!

It's kind of annoying but if it works to stabilize the forum that would be nice.

i see the forum software has changed again

someone has it out for me, i'm on the way to pick up some anvils, and the kid texts me to say "sorry man, sold them just a while ago"

nice

but now i have schnapps and my fields are empty and with f***s, cast thine eyes upon those fields, and weep

also chat room

blerg!

javascript is only a load for the client, in theory... the server should not care a whit

unless there's a lot of weird activity going on, like pinging the server, and then that's just bad design

a garage i went to supposedly "road tested" my car, to the tune of 80 miles. i asked them exactly where they went, and why my car smelled like smoke? "oh, uh, sometimes we authorize a car for a parts run, but they wouldn't smoke in the car"... "right, wanna see the soda can with the butts in it they left in the beverage holder? so much much are you knocking off on this, because i'm going to have to get it cleaned, and you cost me a few gallons of gas, plus you know, for all i know there's an APB on my car for that round trip, you know he was speeding"... "well, uhm, yeah, sorry"... didn't go back. told my friends. told my friends friends...

idiots
