you know James - you should stand in front of trees more often -- it has a very slimming effect. :D :o

Oh? And here I thought the slimming effect came from my kickass field-jacket and losing 20 pounds... :p

Anywhos, I manipulated this photo a few times:

Spooky!! I like that very much... I'm lovin' the contrast and depth. If I'd known you were gonna do that to it, I'da stood a bit to the left, more in the shadow, and barely been seen at all.

We need to talk.

Exactly; it reminded me of Yggdrasil from Norse mythology. Ang insisted on snapping a pic of me with that gnarly ol' beech, and I'm glad she did. It's very humbling to stand next to something that huge and contemplate all the many decades it has survived. I'm looking forward to visiting it again in a few weeks when it buds out and grows new leaves.

Looks like a great tree to sit under while enjoying a nice smoke and strong beverage and contemplate all things.

I need the weather to warm up here to tolerable levels so I can get bak out into the woods

Have cut down on my Pepsi drinking since new years. Stopped buying junk food as well. I would eat nearly a box of cakes per day, no joke. Anywhos, just got off the scale @ 268lbs. Lost about 10lbs.

Congrats. Years ago I used to drink a lot of Mt. Dew, but stopped about 9 years ago. now I have a couple a week.....still haven't had any significant weight loss, tho. I think when one is a big (or in my case, just heavy) guy.....ah, well. A million rationalizations. Not enough exercise for me, prolly too many beer calories, sitting too much at work (driving, sometimes 300+ miles a day), stress and all the other crap. Plus, I tend to have a very hard time sticking to any sort of regimen as my days are just too variable to have a set schedule for exercise or meals. Like I said, a million rationalizations.
Good on ya though, Dubz. That's a significant start. Hopefully you're gonna hafta spend some cash on a new wardrobe soon for your slimmer self.

The inlaws came home today from Florida, got a package delivered!

Thanks man. I didn't expect the pounds to start melting off instantly, but I was geting a little discouraged after a few weeks of "dieting". Better to stay away from the scales, haha. I sorta forgot about it, got on the scales today, and was pleasantly surprised. Amazing how different my demeanor is too, not eating all that sugar.

Anybody know where the thread is that has Dexs' modded BK11? The one he made into a small knife. Can't find it.

anyone have a Fenix E05? Like it? How about a ThruNite Ti3 EDC? Am looking to get an AAA light.

Olight I3os Dubs. 1 aaa battery and three brightness settings and LONG batterly life. Also very very pocket friendly, and not expensive either.

That looks nice too. The ones I mentioned also have three settings. No strobe, but I don't care about that one anywhos. The Olight runs about $5 more, not that I'm concerned about $5, just sayin'...

Great little light. Thorny made me buy this one at Blade.

The Maratac versions at countycomm are good too.

Happy b-day to those who find themselves older.

Congrats Dubz on finding yourself smaller.

Way to get after it WW on the new Hex's.

Other generalized specific congratulations to others whom I may have overlooked.

There. Am I caught up now?
