Why doesn't Busse include sheath??

Knife collectors don't need sheaths for their knives. Knife users need a safe, tough, and pratical sheath.

This is precisely why I think the current system works well. For my users I want a custom sheath, for the safe queens cardboard is good and cheap.

I am glad that sheaths ae not always included with fine knives. I never would have discovered custom sheaths or the pleasure of making my own.

Just an idea how easy it would be just to the knife and go to the woods and start testin it out...;)

I cant contribute to this thread as I am obviously biased. :o But I cant for the life of me figure out what you wrote there Gerberblades.

I seem to remember a while back when the cost of materials was going up that Jerry decided to drop the sheath and not raise the price for the knife. I assume that has kept the price down a few bucks since then on new models.

As another of the "ugly guys" I have to thank LVC for his well thought out support, offer greetings to the other "ugly guys", thank Skunk for the post, and ask a question of Gerberblades.

Do Firearms always come with a holster, and would you put a Les Baer in a one size fits all "nylon baggie"? (Nothing against nylon sheaths here.......well, maybe a little ;) )

I'll also take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support of us "small business guys". We couldn't do it without you!

OK, break is over, gotta get back to work!

Prolly just my bad english, what I was saying was when I get the infi, I would like to be able to got test it out right away, instead of having to wait for a sheath...

take a look at the bigger picture for a second. back home i have a sheath box, a holster box, a sling box, a 1911 parts box, an AR15 parts box, an M1A parts box, a knife sharpening box, oh and in more recent years a box full of gun locks that come with every freekin firearm i buy.
all this left over stuff just sits in boxes, replaced by superior custom gear.

personally i would like to thank busse for helping reduce the build up of OEM stuff thats doomed to wind up in a box anyway.

Ah cool, thanks for the clarification. :) but, with so many "ready to go" sheaths out there, whatcha worried about? If not Spec Ops, Scrap Yard, and Ranger Knives, theres quite a few up and coming sheathmakers out there that theres literally little or no wait to get a rig. You can order the knife and order the sheath at the same time, and I betcha the sheath will make it before the knife every time. Even with some wait time, if you order the sheath when the knife is ordered your in good shape. It DID take a few months between order and receive on the ASH's.

Like so many of the others here I have an entire drawer dedicated to the "It comes with" sheaths and holsters, and I am sick of paying extra to get something I dont want in the first place. Jerry has a great thing going here, and I hope others will follow, he has pleased more people than he has upset and thats is what counts in the long run.

I'm kind of partial to the old Urban Postal Camo Sheaths that used to show up! :D

Does a gun come with a holster?

Think about it.

When I buy a gun I am also going to have to consider what holster I want for it just like what sling I'm going to use for a rifle. What is intended for? Whats going to be my primary carry position? I seriously look at a sheath being no different then a handgun holster or a rifle sling. I'm glad Busse doesn't provide a sheath.

Does the current offering of three sheaths at the company store, two of them added in the last three days, mean that Busse is changing its policy re: providing sheaths?

No, the company store is offering sheaths, not Busse Combat.
