Why doesn't everyone just have a small sebenza?

I can tell you why.... cause s30 at 57 58 can't last one day without needing to be sharpened at my job.man do I love the fit and finish on crks but the edge won't last

I did the mass reduction in numbers for the lesser amount of "essential" knives. I managed to get down to the <20 knive and will probably taper out around two dozen. It's a pratcical notion that all should consider IMHO but fair warning. I managed to reduce my wasted knife numbers of safe queens but that list of essential knives is tough to settle on. I'm now trying to ensure I don't start creeping up in numbers more than I have already started to do! :)

I have too many knives, and yet the Sebenza design left me cold - I did prefer Klotzli at that price and refinement level. Then I bought the small Insingo variant because I liked the blade style, and I must say that it is growing on me. It is unobtrusive, sturdy and good enough for all normal uses. I still prefer Klotzli though!
In any case, I am thinking of reducing my collection from around 180 towards around 20 "essential" knives, and I think that the small Insingo Sebenza will stay.

Yes, well, I will probably leave a few Saks and Opinels outside that count - they are cheap anyway, and also 8 french-style folders (Laguiole etc) because these are for dining with friends. You see, I haven't started yet, and I am already cheating! :-)

Sebenzas just don't do anything for me. I might give $100 for one, new.

I don't have any dislike for them, just don't have any real love either...

I feel ya, when I look at one I feel like I'm looking at a knife I would see in Taiwan on a street corner for two or three bucks. But I also have never been told I had good taste...In women, beer, bourbon , or sexual protection. Plastic bag will do me just fine at free. So I guess knives are just the same.

There is no knife that compares to the Sebs quality. Just observing HOW it is built reveals that it is in a league of it's own at any price range.

That's a pretty strong statement. That price range is starting to enter the custom catagory and there are plenty of custom makers that make an exceptional knife. CRK makes a great knife and the customer service is top notch but to say it's the end all be all of knives.. I'm not buying it. To each their own .
