Why doesn't everyone own a Delta Z????

Ok! Ok! I listened to TBG & Keith Montgomery & checked out the Delta Z January sale knives! Ordered several lock backs & liner locks in Stag & African Ox horn. Like I told Keith, if they are not to my liking, they will become Christmas 2003 gifts! But what I'm reading here is that I'll be rotating my EDC every day!:D

I'm in for about 70 bucks. Got the cheapest fixed blade and the teflon-coated liner lock. Thanks, Rob

I've explored CRKT knives, they are usually the first step in upgrading my friends knives, I', gonna have to pick one up and check it out.

BG,
I was waiting for you to show up.

You just have no self control, do you??;)

I can't help myself sometimes :D I brought my wife into my office to show her how cheap they were, and she instantly knew that I bought some. (peering over my shoulder, keeping my eyes open for her to look) She doesn't know I just sent payment for another Winston Damascus FB:D

By the way, I opted for Priority Mail shipping this time. It seems to be faster. I am thinking about ordering one of their damascus folders, you can't beat that price. Most for $129.

Well, after reading this post I immediately went to the Delta Z site and checked it out... I'm out $80 but I'm getting 2 lock backs and a linear lock that looks like would have cost me $250 before!
I'm also new to the forums and new to buying knives again (you know the routine of getting married, struggling, kids, struggling... suddenly it's 18 years later and finally I have some cash for me!).
I really fell in love with the Red Maple handled Osprey but the sale on them wasn't very good. I checked several other sites selling Delta's and the others were fantastic deals but the Osprey could be had cheaper elsewhere. I held off on that one but must get it someday!

Thanks for the info!

Nvincible, The Red Maple Osprey is a sweet knife, Thats what made me start this thread. They are a bit more expensive than all of the blow out deals they got going on at Delta's site. Once you get it though, you'll be very pleased with how nice it is. I am thinking of buying one for my brother as a gift as well.:)

After seeing your pic I fell in love too. I will end up getting it but didn't want to spring for that much yet. I did find it for $119 on 2 other sites though. It will be mine! :D

hmmm. i went to the web site and was about to buy a liner lock when i came to delivery options. priority mail..6.50 with the following stipulation "buyer assumes delivery risk" what's that all about? i was all excited only to be foiled by some weird delivery waiver..

I am guessing b/c when you are a business shipping via USPS and print out everything electroniclly you can not innsure the item. So they put that little disclaimer up to warn people. I used Fed Ex the first time, however people have reported that Priority Mail got to them faster, So I opted for that this time. You can't expect a business to go stand in line at a Post Office to innsure packages and I would say your risk of not recieving it is little to none. :)

Got one before Christmas for a great price, but not as good as the end of the year price. Great stuf for the $$$

I now have my nephews B-day presents (DZ6101-ob's) and one for myself. Want a damascus blade, but couldn't afford it right now, so I went with the 5312. Can't go that wrong for $39.

These sales are killing me. :) Just ordered 3 more. Two lockbacks for gifts and a fixed blade for me. Damn now I have five knives coming and it's only the 3rd. It's an addiction I tell ya'

The liner lock and the fixed blades arent bad.The steels used arent of much quality but for the price I guess thats what you get.The Ralph design is fugly and the pivot knife is crap. As gifts O.K but not to anyone that collects knives. I would rather save all those $25 to $50 dollar knife buys up and get a knife with some resale or at the very least a better warranty. It looks like they dont cover there exotics very well either. It says its knives are from here but I would bet something is awry in that respect also.If you like cheap knives then buy them up because that's what they are. Once you have seen the site and looked at the knives and read this thread how many Delta Z threads could be any more exciting than this.:D ..............RB (edited for spelling)

I would have to disagree. I have bought about 7 Delta Z's in the last month or so. All of them have ZERO blade play, Are very smooth, fit and finish have been top notch and razor sharp. I think people judge a product by how much they pay for it, not the quality. Meaning some people could by an Al Mar Sere 2000, which is beloved by many knife knuts, slap a $20 price tag on it and you would here from people how its a cheap knife and blah blah... Personally if I pay $3 for a 2 carat diamond, its still a diamond, If I pay $30 for a quality knife, its still a Quality Knife. :)
