I really want a piece of that SR101... Had a go ahead to get a 311 and really want to try one out, but since then SYKCO's order page crashed the day I was going to place my order and still is down, then fundage got relocated... damn the luck. lol

Thanks man, I have been through a few Scrapyards now but i just cant get into the res-c handles. If you are going to get some SR101 id highly recommend the Ratmandu, its hard to be beat at 155 ordered directly from the swamp. But if your wanting a smaller blade the Rodent Solution has amazing ergos as well. Both knives melt in your hand. One of the easiest things to fall in love with is swamp rats ergonomics. Then you get hooked by the the edge holding ability.

I got a unique custom full drop point RMD on order now thats going to be super sick! And a custom rodent 6 thats going to be a full drop point as well with no top guard and at .265 thick and little over 6" its going to be a BEAST! i cant wait! This is what the R6 will look like, My custom RMD is top secret at this point.

If I get one I want satin blade and black handles. Dunno if that's something they normally like to do or not.

I had an M-9 -- it was nice, but my Junglas felt better balanced for chopping, so I sold it off to raise funds for the MUK LE.
the 1311 is a fun chopper, though. currently contemplating pulling the res-c off my basic 4 and replacing it with birch bark.

I like the look of the smaller blades (I know I would use them more too) I have looked at the swamp rats R3 and the Rodent solution, but I think the handle on the 3 would be a bit too small, which makes me think R4. Then the Rodent Solution looks really good but I am not sure how I feel about the thinner profile blade. (I'm sure its probably amazing.) So that took me to the 311 from scrapyard. I like the whole idea of the RES-C and the wider blade. I just think it would be a perfect near bullet proof EDC type fixed blade... So if Scrap ever gets their stuff together and I can get the funds I'll probably go that route, but still have my eye on a Rodent Solution, LOL I dunno! I just wanna try out some of that SR101.
 
Sure they do that. Black canvas micarta or black g10 or even black paper micarta. You can get satin on any of their knives thru the custom shop too. You can choose saber grind of FFG as well. I just traded a satin FFG RMD with black canvas. It was sweet but i have a few RMDs and wanted that KDSH- kill devil sniper hawk -

Whenever you get it im sure you will enjoy it. Might not be the best knife ever, but if you find a better one for 155 id love to know about it - for real tell me lol

Oh man id love an M9! And res-c is the only thing that made me trade my 1311 and my rare jungle green Taliwacker. I really wanted to love the res-c but didnt. There is a guy who replaced the res-c with wood on a scrapper 5 i believe. maybe kael or something like that... theres is pictures on the Busse s/f somewhere. If SY would use micarta as an option id have just as many dogs as rats.

Cool. I thought the only did special runs on the ffg and satin blades. I think black g10 or black linen micarta would be my choice. The black canvas doesn't do it for me. I might have to email their custom shop soon.

I have all of those, and a few of some and ill say the solution has the best handle for sure! I recently traded godspeed for a solution and he was worried about the same exact thing, the blade profile, but when he got it, in his words "I have a new favorite knife! This thing is awesome" And thats saying something coming from a guy that has made sheaths for LOADS of different knives. From the look of the rodent solution i didnt honestly think it was all that special until i put it in my hands then i understood why people liked them so much. But i prefer a larger blade most the time so i use the rmd as much as i can.

But Im not sure if you tried emailing SY, you may still be able to order thru email.
 
I should get royalties or something LMAO But really i do get a 10% discount and love their knives so i dont mind spreading the word when people are interested or have a question.
 
They offer a discount to active duty and veterans....Finally a useful discount lol saving money on wonderful knives? theres a reason for every young man to join up right there lol Most useful discount i have got since getting out the service!
