Why is Alox so expensive?

There are at least 3 types of construction involved in Alox scaled SAKS. In order of cost/expense: The cheapest are the glue on metal slabs. Available in Al, Ti, & Cu, these are the easiest to install. Next are the riveted Al slabs. These are usually put together by outfits like Victorinox or Swiss Bianco. Lastly, the Al screwed together SAK’s are all customs as far as I know.
As the complexity of construction and reduced volumes of production come into play, the costs increase rapidly.

I’m a bit clumsy, and always at the worst possible moment. lol
I’ve dropped a Deluxe Tinker and a Huntsman off my hobby table (I relive my childhood thru slot cars), both rather heavy compared to alotta SAKs, and luckily neither suffered any damage to the scales.
I prefer Alox scales, but they need to offer these models with more options concerning the tools.
