Why no love for the HEST ?

If you are going that route, check these out:

I was writing about stealth camping and people living in their cars on my blog a few months ago. I have neglected the poor blog because of the holidays, etc.

I had a couple of the original articles from the U.K. about the people living down under Vegas. Fascinating stuff. Thanks for the links.

I think even the folks that are totally disinterested in urban stuff would do well to heed the lessons learned by the homeless people in the city. The ground is cold, but concrete is even colder. A lot of people fancy themselves as survival experts, we have them all around us...some of them might have a screw or two or fifteen loose, but they do know how to survive. :)

Maybe Mistwalker and Me and a few other peoples need to start a new movement...Urbancraft. :D

That would be an interesting idea, as I really believe that a lot of us spend more time in an urban environment than out in the "bush." Even most of the places I "hike" in are close to urban areas. I think you two should get together, and start a thread on this.

All sound like interesting reads thanks. Lol, now I have more books to order. I've done the "car-living"...actually in a truck but still...but the other two are right up my line of thinking. It was a book by John Saul I read some months back called the Manhattan Hunt Club that reminded me that there is an underground Chattanooga. I'm not sure how big it is over-all but I got to see a small part of it once on a construction project and I want to find out if there is an "open access" to it somewhere outside a building. I know there are caves in the bluff along the river that go under some buildings that I want to check out again too.

But you have to be urbane about it! :D

Leave it to Esav........

I was thinking the same thing. I'd much rather be in the woods...but I spend much more time in the urban environment just out of necessity.

Just got my HEST in the mail from KSF. So far I like the way it feels. I have small hands and it feels great to hold and swing it around. Will post some comments about it after I put it thru some testing. I am a newbie to knife collecting so I probably won't answer many questions about this knife, but I feel that before I say something about a product I need to actually have it and use it.

As a part-time paramedic and oilfield safety responder I can see many possible uses for the knife and its features.

They could use this tag line for the thread:
"There are eight million stories in the Naked City. This has been one of them."

I just think it sucks when people have to come in and take a dump on other people who happen to like Moras or when people who are into "Bushcraft" leave a pile on people that might consider themselves more into "survivalism."

Don, I think it sucks when people have to come in and take a dump on other people, for whatever reason. We all have to knock that s**t off.

It looks like somebody else here is as old as me to remember that!

Stomper, this place is full of us geezers! :D

Doc

I have done it in the past but usually it is over something outlandish like people saying they carry two Bic lighters because "spark rods don't work" or some other blatant retardation. :D

When it comes to knives and most other gear, I'm more of the, "have a good one and then multiply that by three." :D
