Everytime someone asks which fixed blade to get, I hear dozens of recommendations for the f1. I also hear most people rave about it saying it is one of the greatest survival knives. With that being said, there have been a whole lot of threads with pictures of knife collections, or lists of your go to knife, or your woods knife and I see very few f1s. I know there are a lot of other good knives out there, but you can get the f1 online for only $90. Just suprised more of you dont have them. Any comments welcome. Thanks.

I have an f1 it's awsome, but for a while I've been favoring knives with carbon steel blades and alittle more of a rustic appearance...but preferances like that aside the f1 is hands down one of the best woods knives money can buy.

I never own a F1 or S1 look good but ,I am gonna spend my money on what I know tried & true Rat cutlery blades...no issues for me ,never let me down just a solid performer. EDC Rat-3 & Rat-7 in truck....

I just ordered one with every intention of making it my go to blade. I tried the rat-5 with high expectations, but it just wasn't what I wanted.

I like the Rats. But I think out of the box an F1 blows them away. Your experience may vary.

i have an F1... it is an awesome knife... it performs very well out in the field.... mine see's plenty of use..... i rotate my fixed blades regularly..

i usually have quite a few go-to knives..:D

I have an F1.

It's an amazing knife.

I carry it in my shoulder bag, in the Zytel sheath.

Daily.

To answer the question about why there aren't more pix or raves about the F1, I would think that it's just a solid performer without much flash. And since it's not big, there aren't going to be chopping tests/pix or other big knife sports. You wouldn't be so interested in an article with "Here's a pic of my F1 cutting some salami on my camping trip","Here I'm making fuzz sticks for the fire","Here i'm gutting a fish.." you get the idea.

If someone would give me an F1, I'll be sure to make a big deal about it! It's next on my list. Unfortunately, it might not be until next Christmas until I get to finally see one in person!

I bought two F1 blade blanks,I put a handle on one and it's my go-to knife. Haven't decided what type of handle to put on the other yet...It's a strong ,sharp knife with a good design.

Well, in my humble opinion, the F1 is not a collector type of knife. It's a purebred user, all functionality, no bling bling. It's not meant to look good, it's meant to do the job. I have a number of F1s, none of which are meant to be pretty, although I do take care of them. The F1 may not be the most interesting of knives to many people, due to not looking fierce and tactical, or polished and traditional. It's a simple, skillfully executed design that just works. It's simply a very good knife, and it's not marketed as a superbly exciting lifesaver or combat instrument, either. Knives like that tend to disappear in the background noise of instruments for hi-speed operators and tricky folding knives and what not.

It will be my next knife purchase. Erdvark hit it on the head. There is not much flash to it.

i dont have an F1 but i have not been dissapointed with any of my other Falkniven blades, one could easily be on my "need" list soon.

tested it, didn't like the handle.

With a different handle it would probably be among my favorites, I've been checking out the exchange for a modded one.

Love my F1...it's always with me. Light and tough. I even wear it running. I tuck the zytel sheath into my back pocket to keep it from flopping around. I don't know it's there till I need it. When I'm not in the woods it goes in my shoulder bag.
