Why Remove the Prices?

"There is no argument really. The rule is clear."

The rule may be clear. In no way does that mean there is no argument against the rule. But you are right... it is evident that this has become a small corner of the internet where information is not to be available..... kind of an oxymoron.....

"There are plenty of ways and places on the 'Net to find just as, or more accurate information by those that choose to take the time to seek it."

Damn, I wish every time I did a search it would send me to those places instead then...because every time I do a search for the info I am looking for I get sent to numerous threads here, ony to find that the info I am seeking has been removed....

"You wouldnt happen to be calling someone names by your youtube video, now would you?"

Methinks the video went right over your head. How, exactly, did you interpret it?

There is no more accurate information on the price of a knife, than in a recent transaction, what a willing buyer will pay a willing seller, absent some emergency situation.

"emergency" is a very subjective term. They vary greatly from person to person. There are(usually)so many variables during a sale.

"I've never had problems finding the info i seek, because i choose to do the research wherever it may be"

Can I start asking you for info when I want to know what the current selling prices of knives has been over a certain length of time? Since it's so easy for you to find, can you tell me what the last 10 Busse Gladiuses sold on this forum went for? Also, while you're at it, how about the last 10 Criswell swords.... Can you also give me dates? Thanks a bunch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You could ask me about a price... for a price.:p

To put it simply, I value the privacy both to myself and the buyer.

As a seller, I always remove the sales price after one of my items has sold. I do not ask other sellers to do the same, but I like it when they do.

Well, you finally managed to irritate me. Posting a video with no comment of your own is insulting. It assumes we all hear / see / understand these videos the same way, which is pretty obviously not true, not even possible. This thread hasn't produced anything new in a while. I think it may be on its last page.

Sorry, i don't do other peoples homework for them.
BTW: the quote button is on the lower right of every post. You can even multiquote.
Perhaps you arent using the internet properly and that is why your searches arent as fruitful as they could be.

It didnt go over my head at all, i just asked for clarification as to your intent....
There are two distinct possiblities:

1) You were referring to cyberspace intrinsically taking over the minds of humans and turning us robotic......which is idiotic.

2) You were calling a supermoderator a "Cyberpunk" .....which stands the chance of you not having to worry about prices or anything else on this site.

You still havent clarified.

It's not a bad idea FLymon. But I'm not the right guy to implement it. I don't know enough about knives and I expend my energy in helping people in another, completely unrelated field. I already run several email lists and forums.

I actually put that out there as kind of a joke. I just wanted to see what you thought about it.

It would be nigh impossible to manage something like that, unless you were talking about maybe new knives only.
I mean imagine trying to keep up with just one model like the Kershaw Leek when factoring in all the different different handles, blades, steels, SFO's, etc.. And that is not taking into account the various conditions of like new, sharpened, not sharpened, with/without box, and on and on. And I think Leeks would be pretty tame compared to say Randall Knives, or Busse.

It works pretty well with gold, soybeans, pork bellies, and oil, but not with previously owned knives. IMHO, YMMV.

"Sorry, i don't do other peoples homework for them. "

But you said it was no problem and was so easy for you....

"Well, you finally managed to irritate me. Posting a video with no comment of your own is insulting."

Posting the video WAS my comment. I can't help it if people are so obtuse they can't get the comment....

"It assumes we all hear / see / understand these videos the same way, which is pretty obviously not true, not even possible."

If I point to a car and say "that car is red" how hard is that for everyone to see?

"There are two distinct possiblities:"

Actually, neither one of your conclusions is correct. The CyberPunks are the ones who are seeking information and can't get it because it's being hidden from them. It's pretty simple... no idea why the whole premise is escaping everyone.... Oh..... waitaminnit......... Nevermind.......

"I think it may be on its last page. "

LOL.... Then take your ball and go home......

Actually, you're not getting it. This site has no obligation to be either a historical or ongoing price guide. I don't know how many ways there are to say the same thing. It's rather ironic you used the word obtuse...that's exactly what I was thinking too. There really isn't anything more to discuss.
