Why the backlock?

With a man like Sal Glesser behind the helm I am proud to own and carry Spydercos.

I did make the mistake of taking my Caly3 to the beach once, and it resulted in a pretty gritty action. I had to rinse out the knife a couple times to restore it back to its incredible smoothness. I found the more open design of the Para-Military to be much easier to clean out debris when facing the same conditions (sandy beach). I think that the lack of openness is the lockback's only real con in daily usage.

Alright,.......I am gonna get a Manix (for me, it looks the part), but only if you promise to supply me with band-aids....err........stitches if it closes on my fingers. :D

Buy from Newgraham.com and they give you bandaids for free. Plus they rule.

If you manage to close a Manix on your fingers, you may rest assured it WASN'T the knife's fault. Cut with the edge, not the spine, and you will be fine.

I plan on driving to New Graham this Thursday. I made the trip two years ago and bought a BM 806 and 710. This time it will be a Manix and a ......?

...Centofante 3 or 4.

Its not a tank like a Busse or a Manix but you'll love it. Thin, light, smooth and locks up like a vault (even with its lock-back).

Good point about the choil hitting your finger, I'll look into that, but I think you would need more than a screwdriver to carry the blade tip up. It looks like you need to drill additional holes.

I carry a mini-manix EVERY DAY and have used a benchmade blue box to convert it to tip up carry. It took about 40 seconds to do.

As for closing, the same method in the video applies to the manix and mini. Same exact method.

As for failing, I have TRIED to make it fail but have never been able to do so. A TANK of a knife and I would trust it for any work I had. If you are using it for ultra hard work, maybe you should get a fixed.

Have a good day,
Brett:)
