Why should you own & carry black handled knives?

I’ve had these two case knives for a while along with the SAK, but two of my more recent acquisitions have been this very generously gifted bunny knife, and one of the the cattle knifes from the rendezvous. The black covers, and moreover the Ebony for me, are clean/classy and also exude simplicity. In my growing collection of traditionals, I haven’t really narrowed down on one aspect or preference; Ebony wood however is growing on me, and may have to be something I specifically look for.

Note: I think the copperlock is recovered in Ebony as well but I don’t recall from when I got it, nor do I have the the eye to notice the difference between that versus other black woods.

But you know, GEC aren't too bad at this either ;)

One of these days I'm going to have to add a GEC knife. Beautiful design and finish... just more than I typically spend on a knife. If the knife is too nice, I'm hesitant to use it!! I generally pocket carry beaters so as to avoid adding wear to the nicer ones!
