Wilderness Photography

Thurin,

That lake in your pictures from Missouri wouldn't happen to be at Whiteside, would it? Those dead trees in the water look familiar.

wow lamco3

thats a fantastic pic.
I look forward to seeing more of your posts.

Good save Onedog :)

Great pics. Looks like a really nice place for a hike.

Hotshot, it's by Prairie Home.

Wow lamco3. Incredible pic.

What camera are you guys using in your pictures? Man some awesome moments captured!

JD - most of my pics from the wilderness are from my iPhone. Occasionally some of the pics will be from my Nikon D5300 but I haven't found a good way to carry it while on the trail.

A few pics from today.

So pretty, reminds me of the last trail I went on up in the Snoqualmie area.

Here's one I managed to get in the Skate Creek wilderness area on a prior camping trip with my phone.

So, i got to play a festival at a ski resort near Jackson Hole Wyoming. Here's a couple phone pics from the top of the ski lift and some from the 3.5 mile hike back down. Really good day.

Thought the landscape looked familiar, then saw that it's the Ghost. Just ripped south of there yesterday around the Elbow area around Banded Peak, best time of the year right now.

I went on a short solo trip for a little R&R and fishing before Labor day weekend. Drove up to one of my favorite places, Davis Lake in Ca. Fishing was bad but the trip was just the ticket I needed. These were all taken with my phone. Sort of wish I had a bit more talent and a DSLR for that last pic.

This is the Little Truckee river off Hwy 89 on the drive up. I left out the picture of the dead washing machine on the roadside. Seems you're never too far from signs of human presence even in a place this beautiful.

First morning out fishing. Very few people up there that early in the week. The free range cattle kept me company.

This lake has a bunch of long "finger" meadows stretching from the mountains to the west down to the lake. The road bisects them all so you get some nice long views down towards the water. Particularly pretty in the spring vs late summer.

A little evening fishing with my friends. Perhaps one of the reasons the fish weren't biting off bait, lures, or trolling. Flying bugs galore. Might have been a different story for a fly fisherman in a float.

What would be a trip without a pic of the knives you brought with you?

Last but not least... the send off for my last night there. Prettiest sunset I've seen in years.
