I love the amount of people viewing this thread right now as opposed to the others :D:D

Hovering -- like vultures over a fresh Infi kill, just waiting for a scrap. :D

Try drinking more water than normal so when you pee it is clear. Also try alternating between hot and cold packs and try to lay down on a firm bed and not move while keeping heat on it. Take some advil also.

You can always try acupuncture with some Infi :D

Ooh! What's that word...oh yeah, ... Alzheimers!

It won't really get rid of the pain, per say, but you'll forget what the he77 it was that you were bitchin about. :p :D

...of course, if you do try this, you should probably put Garth in charge of sending me my SK! ;)

Tree Herder,

I told Jennifer about your suggestion and I think her slapping me might have actually helped my condition!!! :D

OK, I think we're on to something here. Jerry, have Stinky send a few of his Viagra to you, pop 2 or 3 and start chasing Jennifer around. The smack down that you'll receive should take care of it. If you're lucky, she'll knock you right out - giving your shoulder time to heal.

My appologies to Jennifer, but as they say, for better or for worse... :o

In all seriousness (and I hate being serious), the last time that the pinched nerve in my lower back acted up, I was perscribed Prednisone (a type of steroid I'm told) and some anti-inflamatories. They did the trick. I went from litterally not being able to sit or lay down for 2 days to sleeping like a baby in no time. Down side is that I had to see a doctor to find out once and for all what the hell was wrong with me and to get the perscriptions, but you may be able to simply call the doctor for the script.

If all else fails, have one of the talented young lads at the shop make you a bionic arm out of INFI and replace the bad one.

Good luck and get well soon!

Hi Jerry,

I'm a Pilates instructor, personal trainer and am working on my PT and deal with this sort of thing all the time. I MIGHT be able to help.

First, look down at your feet. Do they evert? IE turn out? And if you look in a mirror is one of your shoulders slightly lower than the other and rolled forward?

If so try this, turn your feet in until you are in a knock kneed stance, like you are pigeon-toed. Heels forced outward. Now pull your shoulders back and down as if I shoved an orange in between your shoulder blades and you are trying to squeeze it. Now slowly shake your arms out and raise them above your head. You may find that raising your hands in front of you like you are reading a book will cause less pain than out to the side. Then let your arms drop.

At this point you may find some relief from the pain and some pressure taken off the nerve. If this is the case all I have done is momentarily placed your hips properly under your spine and repositioned your scapulae. If one of your feet turns out more than the other that hip can be the culprit.

Additionally exactly what portion of your left arm is numb?
If it is your left shoulder it is either your 3rd or 4th cervical vertebrae. If it runs along your bicep it is the 5th, your thumb it is the 6th, your middle finger the 7th, your ring and pinky C8, bottom of the forearm the 1st thoracic and tricep your 2nd thoracic. You can pinpoint pretty precisely which nerve is being impinged.

Please let me know if any of my suggestions worked and if they did, I can suggest some physical therapy exercises (cleared with your doctor of course) you might want to try to realign your hip/shoulder alignment.

No doctors!!! ;)

I had the same thing in my lower back, the only thing that will get rid of it is time(this won't win me the knife but it is true). The more you work it with the nerve still pinched the worse it will be.I had to continue working and it took 10 months for my back to get any better, still bothers me but while this was going on I would get up from the chair and walk all the way through the house before I could get straightened all the way up.

You got problems brother. I think your dying froma tumor. Hmm make sure you get those HOFBM’s out soon ok?

In any case the only way for you to cure that is to go sleep belly up on a hard flat surface for a week without a pillow. Taking a crapload of advil won’t hurt either. If you lay on a hard surface to sleep without your cushy pillow you will probably recover fairly quickly.

I've got a pinched nerve in my left shoulder that feels like a knife being jammed into me everytime I move . . . . . It runs into my neck and is making my left arm numb. . . . I've tried drinking a boat load of scotch but that hasn't done much except to apparently worsen the pain by causing me to fall down the steps from the upstairs office!!!!! Bad deal!!!

If anyone here can tell me how to fix it myself. . . (not "go to a doctor or chiropractor") I will award them their choice of a Skeleton Key with any finish that we have available.....

Bring your whacky suggestions. . . I'll try them all!!!!

Might be a good chance for you to mess me up even more!!! :D That sounds fun!!! :D . . . errrrrr. . .well, maybe not so fun since we're doing it to me!!!!

Bring it on HOGs. . . .

Give me detailed instructions on how to make this go away and you will be awarded in INFI. . . .. . . .

Jerry

Quit your sniveling ya whiney tu tu wearing candy a$$ bastid and get back to the grinders before I set the dogs upon you!

How's that for compassion? I don't know what to tell you to do Jerry. I have a similar problem that has been going on for years. I might take the advice of the Pilates instructor, sounds like it might work. Ibuprofen is good for fighting inflamation. I have also used the alternating cold and heat treatment, and that was recommended to me by a chiropractor, so take it for what it is worth.

someone please lay down some WAX PAPER for Jerry to lay his CANDY AZZ down on.

remember HOFBM sooner than later. Not sure how much time you got, brother.

Jerry - I will send my wife over. You will forget all about that shoulder. If you keep her, I will you the knife, a box of Cuban cigars and some good scotch. :D
