This needs to get bumped back up to the top so we can see more knives. With any luck I will have a couple more to enter before May 1st

40's redwood burl!
I got the blade rough ground from a friend and finished it up.

Not a knife, but a knife display stand, made for our yearly March of Dimes Benefit fundraising effort. A beautiful slab of redwood burl generously donated by Mark!

I have changed the date of the drawing from May 1st to April 1st. I think this will be more fun if I do a drawing on the 1st of every month, so keep posting your photos. A lot of people have been enjoying seeing the photos of the cool knives you make using Burl Source wood. You can enter as many times as you want as long as each time it is a photo of a different knife using Burl Source wood.

Well if April first is the cut off my others wont make in on this one, but I should have 3 new ones for the next

Ray Laconico used some maple burl scales that I dyed orange (as an experiment) on one of his knives. I really like how it turned out.

I made this one using some Burl Source redwood burl mixed with forged W2:

The drawing for the Ringed Gidgee scales will take place tomorrow April 1st around noon PST

If you have made a knife using wood from Burl Source you are welcomed to post a photo to enter you into the drawing. The winner will be selected using a random number generator.

This contest will continue with a new drawing the 1st of each month. I will pick out some of my very best wood for the prize each month.

You are welcome to enter as many times as you'd like as long as each entry contains a photo of a different knife using Burl Source wood.

#29 Burton was the winner for the April 1 drawing for the Ringed Gidgee scales.

Congratulations!
Burton, I will need your mailing address and will send you the scales right away.

Next drawing will be May 1st. I will choose a piece and post a photo of the prize for the next drawing shortly.

Even though this was a random drawing, I think that is a very deserving piece. It shows both the makers skill and great wood available from Burl Source.
Congrats Burton and beautiful craftsmanship.
Here's hoping I can get something finished before the next drawing.
Awesome contest Burl Source

Congrats Burton, im'e sure you will do the wood justice and i can't wait to see a picture of the finished knife. I should have some more wood for Mark in a months time and it will be a mixed bag so it will be a good chance for you guys to try some woods that you wouldn't normally see. Cheers all.

Not sure my knife belongs in the same thread with some of the best makers around, but thanks for enjoying it enough to post.

The contest continues. There will be a drawing on the first of each month.

You can enter as many times as you want as long as each entry is a photo of a different knife using burl source wood.

The drawing is selected by a random number. Beginners who are using the free beginner wood are encouraged to post their photos as well.
