Winner Announced:1000 Post Giveaway, Giveaway!

I would like to nominate my cousin's husband. He is a good father, and an able provider, but they aren't swimming in cash. He carries and uses knives daily, and he is particularly fond of fixed blades, but he doesn't really have a nice (as in what I would consider nice) knife. My cousin asked me for advice on a knife to buy him for his birthday, and the budget that she can afford is plenty to get a decent knife, but not a really nice knife. She wants to get him a hunting knife. I would love to be able to let her know that there is a REALLY nice knife she can give him.

This probably isn't one of the more touching entries, but I thought I'd throw my hat in.

Thanks for a really cool giveaway bro. I'm loving the stories and the expansion of the gaw. I'd nominate someone but I honestly don't think he'd use it enough to justify putting him in the hat. Good luck to all the worthy souls who deserve one of these fine blades.

First and foremost thank you for the generous opportunity.

I would like to nominate my future son-in-law. My he and my daughter have been together for a couple years now. The wedding is in May. He asked me last summer if he could marry my daughter. That was huge in my book as I don't see a lot of young people today doing that. That story in itself is hilarious and one I will have to tell another day in the community center. The kid was sweating profusely and scared to death to talk to me. :D

Drew didn't go to college. He doesn't have a degree but what he does have is a strong work ethic and sense of family commitment. He manages a rent-to-own store. He didn't initially. Last year he was able to be promoted to store manager when the opportunity became available.

Last year my wife and I upgraded our travel trailer. As a result I gave all of my rustic camping gear to Drew and my daughter so they can start their life together sharing the outdoors. My daughter grew up camping and Drew did to some extend. I will be excited to see them camping as a family especially once the grand children start. Growing together as family is a wonderful experience for a young couple and as we all know the outdoors is a great way to strengthen the family bond and a marriage.

I just told my wife the other day that I wished I could afford to get Drew a nice camping knife. I'd like to think that it would mean something special to him and become an heirloom. I also believe he might think it's cool if I was able to "win" him a knife as a result of the respect he has earned from me. Enough respect that I wanted to enter this give away to tell everyone about my future son in law.

Dcaggie06 I don't envy you. ;) There are so many great stories here and so many people deserving of the give away. I appreciate reading everybody's stories. Good luck to everyone and thank you again for the amazing generosity.

Come on guys... who do you know that would truly appreciate a hand made Fiddleback? Who had gone beyond the average?

Thanks again for such a super opportunity!!! There are a bunch of great sounding nominees!!!!! Man, this Fiddleback Family is awesome!!!!!!!

never thought it'd be so hard to give a knife a way to be given away!

Dont be intimidated to submit. JUST DO IT!!!

I feel like the challenge for most folks was that the first group of candidates were so deserving, that it was hard for people to come up with candidates they thought mught win. Which is too bad, because I was really enjoying reading who people nominated. I thought this giveaway was a great idea.

David:

As the clock runs out on your generous GAW I wanted to tip my hat to you for a heartfelt approach. Reading the various nominations has been a reminder that we all have much to be thankful for. I'll be looking forward to seeing which deserving individuals you choose & how you present them to us. Congrats on surpassing the 1000 post milestone.

I totally agreed. Super thumbs up on the awesome GAW! Thanks again, David!

First I want to say that deciding the winners was extremely difficult. If one day I win the lottery, I'd provide all y'all with a FB to give someone. That being said I've made my decision. I'll be notifying those that won via PM for shipping info. We'll do this again in 2000 posts!

Second runner up: CDMayhem - I'm sorry it's not a FB, but this is a very capable blade that Caleb will get some great use out of when y'all go camping together. I hope he enjoys.

First runner up: The Fort - I think your younger brother will find good use out of this Hunter. Being so far from the ones we love is a difficult task we oftentimes must face. Hold on to the good times and revel in the times you are together.

Winner: Willic - I feel privileged to reward such an outstanding young man for living up to the code, and doing the right thing. I hope he cherishes this blade like we all do ours.

Awesome! Thanks, David! This was seriously the coolest GAW, and I am super excited to pass along the BHK Bushcrafter. I know that it will be well used and well loved. Thanks again!

Congrats to each of you who get to present a knife to their friends/family! I look forward to the threads.

Thank you Dcaggie for your kind heart, generosity, and a truly unique GAW.

DC - congrats on the 1000 post milestone and for having a GAW of a custom knife to someone well deserving.

To the winners. Congrats to you, I hope the person getting these knives will use them and love them as much as you will love giving the knife to them. And from the stories shared there is no doubt that they will be well used.
