Winner Announced:1000 Post Giveaway, Giveaway!

Well, This past weekend was the local Boy Scout Spring Camporee. It was a Klondike Derby, where each patrol built a sled ahead of time and they pulled it between stations where they tested their Scout skills. I told the Scouts about this wonderful knife give-a-way Friday night and gave them the Arête to present to Burr. I figured it would be most appropriate for the Scouts to present it. So..... later that night, all the Scouts came to the leader campsite and formed a circle. I told everyone about this fantastic opportunity and about the give-a-way. I told about my friends and family on blade forums. I told about Fiddleback Forge. I told them about RLO leather. I also explained why everyone should be so grateful they have Mr. Fox as a Scoutmaster. Then the boys presented the Arête and Rick Lowe sheath. It was amazing. He was blown away. He carried the knife on his belt ALL weekend. I saw several people ask him about it and he proudly pulled it out to show. FANTASTIC! I can not thank you enough for this amazing and wonderful opportunity!

Sounds like an awesome time was had by all. I remember the Klondike derby! That was a long time ago! Great choice on a person to gift the knife to! Thanks for sharing your pics.

Thanks for sharing the moment with us Will......your message to the scout troop was inspiring !

Man I completely forgot about this, thanks for sharing Will, Burr looks likely a genuinely great guy, and truly pleased to have received the gift (kinda ironic his name is Burr.... ;) ). And props to Dcaggie again for the generosity.

Great post and phenomenal GAW. Wish I could have picked this up from the beginning, but better late than never. Big props to you Dcaggie06 for putting this on. Great submission by you willic. Burr is definitely deserving of a FB and seems just the right person to cherish it for a lifetime.

It looks like it was a better outcome than you could have anticipated. Great pics also. That knife will be well loved and used. Thanks for sharing.

Nicely done Will!! Thanks for posting it. Great experience. A nice lift for a Monday afternoon.

Thank you again Dcaggie. This was really cool! (fyi your dang avatar keeps creeping me out! :D)
