WINNER ANNOUNCED "I've Been Used" - The Giveaway

Congrats on your inbound bundle of joy, late nights and poop!

For a boy's name, I'm going to enter my name; Aric. Not too unusual but unique enough that I've yet to meet another person named Aric.

For a girl's name I'll go with Amelia as in Amelia Earhart.

Now for some outdoorsy pictures:

My daughters name is Rebekah Lorraine, so my vote is for Rebekah if you have a girl.

Jace if you have a son.

Adam would be good too.

Congratulations on becoming a father. First, get your sleep let the little bugger cry. They cry because they are hungry, wet or to see if you'll pick them up every ten minutes. Change them, feed them an put them back down.

For names, look at the grand parents if that works.

Ones I like:
Michael, Maxton, Charlie, Allis and Allison. These work in the States. Down Under is a little different :) Can you use Enfield or Lithgow without a permit?

Yes, I want in on the contest, please.

boy: Rowen or Kale
girl: Brynn or Emma

If I had children these are the names I would choose, maybe slight variation in spelling.

My first choice was Michael, but that has been taken so I'll go to Hunter.

Katherine was my first too, but that also was suggested. Alexandra is my second choice.

Congratulations. I love file and old saw blade knives but more than needing another knife I wanted to say good luck, and hopefully you can instill a respect for the outdoors in your children. Make it fun for them and they will remember it all their lives. Being outdoors, fishing and hiking are about the real only good memories I have from mine.

Joe

Guys the suggestions, photos and above all the shared wisdom is fantastic and much appreciated. Keep it coming! I reckon I might have to throw some other local goodies in with this knife too.

Congratulations!
For the boy, I think its only right to name him after the most influential Australian of all time. A true hero to us all. Wait for it... Crocodile Dundee!
or you could use my name(no not sadsappysucker) Erik.
For a girl, oh I don't know, maybe Charlene(that's what I just named my kayak)
As for that vegan mumbo jumbo, lets just say my dream job would be a butcher at a small outfit(not some giant chain store).
I loves my meat!

Boy: Callum, Cal for short
Girl: Skye

Sunset in Acadia National Park in Maine

Precipice trail in Acadia, mind the broken rail and watch your step as you go.
Snapping turtle with the shell being about the size of a U.S. Quarter.

Congrats on the child, and good luck.

Great giveaway. I am very happy for you and your wife.

Boy - Tristan. When my wife (ex now) was pregnant we decided she would pick names and I would have absolute right of refusal if it was a boy. She came up with three names before I was happy. First name was Slade - what! Pachew - shot that down. Second name was Sloan - even worse! Where was she getting these names. Third was Tristan. I liked it right away. It took her years to admit she named him after Brad Pitt's character in Legends of the Fall. I knew and he was a bad ass in that movie so my son is named Tristan.

Girl - Jordan Lesley. This is the name (backwards) of the hottest girl I went to high school with. I so wanted to bone her. If we had a girl I would have lied as we reversed the rules. I got to pick names and she had absolute right if refusal.

By the way my son has two other boys in his class named Tristan. Ladies love Branjolina.

Disclaimer - if you named your kid Slade or Sloan (or your parents named you that) don't be offended. I am sure you/they are cool. Those just aren't for me.

You'll have to forgive me if I don't name my first born after your kayak :D

Now if someone's named their Busse Battle Mistress though...

Also I gotta say I'm really liking the "evidence I'm not vegan" photos :)

Congratulations!

I've got 3 girls myself, Kristen is 3, Annabelle is 2 and Celeste is 7 weeks. I vaguely remember what sleep, free time and extra money are.

We also considered Adelaide, Regina and Leila for the girls. For boys we considered Ezra and Jameson. My wife immediately shot down my suggestion of Darth.

Congrats!

My 11 month old son (our first) is named Gavin. We were thinking about Arya for a girls name.

As for wilderness - its hard to beat Denali National Park in Alaska. I took these myself:

Congrats!!! This is a great giveaway. For girl I like Gabriella and for a boy I like Michael. I like these names because they are names of Angels.. I know its cheesy. I believe that names should MEAN something, not just sound cool. Gabriella, named after the Angel Gabriel, who represents purity and truth. Michael, named after the Archangel Michael, the General of the Armies of Heaven and come on... He uses a FLAMING SWORD! LOL.

This is a photo taken by my Wife at the Reid Park Zoo in Tucson... One of my Favorite photos!

Yeah, no hard feelings. It was just the first thing i thought of, since I was about to head to the lake to go fishing.
Do you name your knives, guns, and autos too?
I do not own any guns(I know I know, I've just always been in to knives more) and as for the knives and cars, nope. However, if I had a sweet hand made australian fixed blade I might have to name it;)

My oldest son is named Caedmon (pronounced, non-traditionally, Cayd'-mun) Gaelic/celtic/welsh or similar in origin. Don't know meaning, but named after a real person. "Father of English Poetry" First written poem in "English" called Caedmon's Hymn. ~ 600 A. D.? *see music group "Caedmon's Call"

Anika (An'-ickah) "pretty of face" African origin (our first choice for a girl, which we never had)

My wife and I picked unusual names for our kids, based on me being bored with normal, and her being used to unusual (her name: Yvette, her sisters: Sasheen and Bree)

Our other boys: Gabriel (yeah, I know, top five of the year he was born), Asher and Declan.

Thanks for the awesome giveaway, and Congrats on your upcoming miracle/curse! Really, they are a lot of work, but the reward is so amazing.

I don't think I could live without meat. Really, why would it taste so good, if we weren't meant to eat it?

I've never received anything from Australia, before. That would be cool!

Elias for boy.
Lucy for girl.
Imagine a pic of my wife and son in front of a waterfall.
Now imagine a pic of my steak, potatoes, and asparagus from
our anniversary dinner 2 weeks ago.
I can't seem to post pics...
