BF 2015 Knife, CSC Serpentine Jack. Last of the knives made by Canal Street Cutlery (CSC). CSC closed. This knife will never again be made and never again seen beyond the BF 2015 edition.

Single spring double blade. 440C steel and Mexican Bocote scales. While I love two blade single spring knives, I just couldn't warm up to this one. My first BF Knife of the Year, I was sorely disappointed by the recurve in the main blade. Of all the things that must be right on a limited edition knife, the blades and grinds must be right.

This GAW is open to anyone with at least 50 posts in the Traditionals Forum. And don't worry about where on the Earth's surface you are. I'll get it to you. I'd prefer it go to someone who never bought one, even if they did buy one and later gave it away, traded it, or sold it. I also ask that the recipient of this knife never sell it or trade it. If you later decide you don't want it, please just give it away (especially considering how you will receive it).

If you have 50 or more posts in this forum, just state you are in AND either post a pic of a knife you wanted to love but just couldn't or describe a knife you wanted to love but just couldn't or both.

The gift knife has never seen the inside of a pocket or met a stone or strop. It's has only been handled two or three times since I received it.

I'm definitely in. Every time I look for one I miss it. I was always enamored with the railsplitter and was lucky to fall into a beautiful stag Tuna Valley. And while it is really well made and attractive it's built like a box truck. So it sits.

Oh I'm definitely in on this one. I asked Brancron just yesterday about CSC's f&f as I've never even handled one.

I know it's blasphemous in the knife world, but I don't like the Buck 110. I want to, but it's just too damn heavy. I love the look of the knife, the build quality is good, love the steel, made in the USA... It ticks all the right boxes, but I just won't carry it.

Ooh...that's nice. I'm in.

Like you, I desperately wanted to love this forum knife. It was my first, and I bought it with the intention of giving it to my daughter when she got older (she was born in 2010). Alas, the knife was too heavy, the blades too thick, and the springs too stout. The likelihood she'd ever carry it was pretty close to nil, so it moved on.

I'm in. One knife I have I can't warm up to is a beautiful Bruckmann whittler. It's gorgeous. But the nail nick on the main is shallow and closer to the pivot than the tip. To best explain the pull, if this knife is a 10, early GEC 23s are a 5. Also helps to explain why this ~90 year old knife is pristine. Great giveaway, thanks.

I'm in,
I bought this ring opener thinking it would get some use but it just never happened.

I'm in for this one. I've always wanted one of these, but, though they were around when I first started hanging around BF, I never got one.
Here's a knife I recently passed along:

I did like many things about this knife, but since so much of my regular knife usage is for food prep for my two young kids while out and about, I found it a bit lacking for my needs.
For example, lacking options, my then three year old son and I had stopped at our favorite artisanal coffee shop - the one with the mermaid in the logo - that sells over-priced everything. I ordered my son a bagel and butter, and was handed a plain toasted bagel, a pat of butter, and a plastic spoon...and told they didn't have knives...

I pulled out my knife to spread the butter, but I was trying out this sheepsfoot #25 at the time. I found the sheepsfoot a bit lacking as a spreading tool. I determined then and there that I needed a cutting tool that could also butter my son's bagels when required (it also turned me off to carrying a solo sheepsfoot).
Thanks for the GAWs. Lots of great knives finding new homes!

I'm in, thanks!
I bought a GEC Eureka jack at a knife show, only knife I bought at that show. Love GEC, love jacks.
I got it home, and the more I handled it, the more I wondered why I bought it.(traded off to a fine member here for a CSC Erick's jack)

I really tried to like the older Scout knives, and accumulated several of them, but it was just a matter of time before I sold or gave them all away. I no longer have any pictures of them. Please count me in on this very generous giveaway. Thanks.

I'm totally in, i've always drooled over pics of this knife. I've had a few knives that i've bought for cheap (scout knives specifically) that have problems with them, and thought that I would just fix them. Unfortunately that is not the case, and so I have 3 scout knives sitting on my workbench pretty much unusable.

Im in. I like 4in. knives and i think its a beautiful knife but i cant bring myself to carry this one, i think its just too heavy.

I'm in, thanks for the opportunity! Always looked up to this Forum knife, it's beautiful.

I owned some of the GEC Vipers, but never really felt in love with this knife.
Sure it's a great pattern, but for me, I don't know... maybe it was the thin tip on a main blade I didn't like so much.
Here's a picture of my last #47.

Thanks I'm in, I wish I could have gotten a csc bf knife but I have never been in the right place at the right time.

I have always wanted a canoe especially because of all of the great photos here on BF, but once I got one in hand it just didn't fit with me so
I passed this one on to someone who would enjoy it. It was a beautifully made work of art knife, but I didn't love it like some of my other knives.

I'm not in. I own one and absolutely love it!
I just wanted to thank you for yet another generous giveaway!

Wow, super generous! Thanks for the chance.

While I love the GEC #48 for display, and I'm in love with the tortoise acrylic handles, I just can't carry a knife of this size that has two springs. It's just over my comfort zone, unless I'm using it as a dedicated "work around the yard" knife. I really like how CSC was able to put both blades of a knife this size onto one spring:

I'm in. I had one and sold it because I could never warm up to it. I'd like to try again.

One of the knife styles I've always tried to like but never do is the Northwoods knives with the Wharncliffe mains and that really thick grind. I like everything else about them except the blade shape, finish, and grind.

I'm in, would definitely try to give that one some pocket time!

It remind me a bit of this rough Rider that I have!

PS I'm currently trying to rectify what I didn't love about this and getting new covers put on.

Count me in.

I picked up this 3rd cut stag GEC TC Barlow right after it came out. Touched up the edge, coon fingered it, oooohhhed & aaahhhed over it - then put it on my bookcase and didn't hardly touch it again. I think the only thing that kept me from selling it to start with is how hard GEC Barlows are to get now and the high secondary market prices. Finally realized I'll never carry it and sold it to a member here trying to complete his collection.
