Winter Camping Contest

I sent it to you and thanks for the heads up. I didn't even realize my email was turned off. It is on now. :)

According to Uncle Sam's Party Supplies, there may be some KaBar love in a couple of mailboxes Monday afternoon.....

Got it Monday!!! Been busy with work but I finally got a chance to snap a pic. Thanks again!!!!

Yeah, Blue Moon makes a ton of different beers. I have seen like 15 different ones. This is the only stout. There are a few pretty good ones. I get a ton of free beer at work so I have a few cases of this one. ;)

Hello?!?! Where can I get that kinda job?! JK.....seriously, though - OK, I probably don't need a job that has free beer as a perk.

Ha, yeah, I work for a rather large beer company here in Colorado. The crazy thing is that if I actually drank all of my gratis beer each month I probably wouldn't be able to keep my job. However, having mountains of beer in your garage makes you a popular neighbor. It is great bartering material for sure! I have even traded beer for knives. ;)

So I hear from my daughter that the package has arrived and that there "was" a surprise in there for me that she tells me she's possibly claiming... well at least we share some passions I guess.

I'll be sure to post up pics when I get home :D

Sorry for the delay in posting, the daughter and I took off to the woods

Here she is displaying her ninja skills in acquiring both knives

We left out just as it stopped raining and everything was wet after a good 2 day rain, I found some possible fatwood and processed it down to small pieces, it wasn't quite what I was hoping for

My daughter took the Huntsman and used the saw to get us some nice material for the fire steel from the "fatwood" sticks

We learned a couple lessons this trip, like if you're only going to bring the 16, bring a saw!!! It does not chop and doesn't like to cross baton through branches. I've been trying not to bring out the 2,4,7 or 9 on backpacking trips because of weight, boy did I regret that decision this trip. Luckily someone had left us some trail magic of wood in the shelter so we were able to have a fire friday night

Being the shelter is only 5 mi round trip from our house we hiked back out sunday with the dogs & with the 7 and returned the gift of trail magic for the next person

Keeping my fingers crossed. :D
Shouldn't be any issues; standard fixed blade available on both sides of the border.
The Postal folks just like making us play the guessing game as to when things will arrive. ;)

Looks like everyone is enjoying the contest winnings thus far, and are having family good times as well. :)

Huntsman is my favorite SAK pattern -- followed by the Forester.
good to hear she's getting use out of both knives, but I was sure there was a note in the envelope telling her to share with her dad...
thanks for the in-use pictures!
