Wired45 please respond...

In May of last year I sent a USPS Money Order to Texas--priority mail with delivery confirmation. It vanished. Weeks later the delivery confirmation information still said that it was at my local PO and had never left the state.

I had to go to that PO with the stub from the MO, fill out an "investigation" form, pay $5, and wait until 60 days past the issue date of the MO. At the end of that period, since the MO hadn't been cashed, I received a cheque in the mail from the USPS.

If you pay by MO, you keep the stub for this very eventuality. It's a pain in the neck, but cheap insurance.

I own and operate a small business send mail and packages out on a daily basis ,I guess I'm lucky that I can count the number of packages that don't make it to the right people. If I'm wrong , again I'm sorry . I should never of posted in your thread .Gerry

I sent you money....where is my order? Please refund my lost money order to PO Box __.

If you are a small business owner then you understand that the person who is responsible right up until the money is received is the customer. To wait around and rely on other person to find your money order wasn't the way to handle this situation. Your case wouldn't last 1 second in court.

However, if a Seller does receive money from a customer then the Seller IS responsible for the delivering the shipment to a delivery service. You have not proven that the Seller cashed your money order, therefore I think asking to you publically clear this up reasonable.

Thanks for all ypour imput . Don't pay by money order unless it's your last resort . Total rip-off . My last word nothing personal . No real way to track please delete this thread .Even E-bay erases data sent to seller after so many days . I would rather pay paypal than money order 24/7 . Say what you want it didn't happen to you . Heres the fact I paid twice the amount for one item not cool . Just not right after a week seller all of a sudden takes pay pal . Not good business period ! This should be public enough will not pay with money order again . Ya got it !

wired45, can you answer a couple of simple questions?

Wired45, did you go to the post office with your receipt and ask them to refund your money?

If so, what was the result? Had the money order been cashed? With what signature?

If not, why not, and why do you blame anyone but yourself?

If you can't answer those questions I have a couple more for you -- are you trying to swindle El_Toro out of a refund for a money order you never sent, or are you retarded mentally challenged?

Cougar, he has not asked me for a refund either publicly or privately, so I don't think that he is trying to swindle me. He obviously didn't save his receipts and I don't want this to turn into a thread bashing wired45. He's had many successful deals on this forum where both parties were satisfied at the end. Even though he left those comments 4 months after the fact, he obviously had some pent up feelings and just let them out for whatever reason. We all have those days when we wake up on the wrong side of the bed. As far as I'm concerned this matter is over.

Wired45, sorry for any misunderstanding between us. I thought everything had been squared away when you left me positive feedback. You can believe me or not, but I never did receive that MO. All that you needed to do was go to the Post Office with your receipts and cancel the MO back when the transaction took place. My condolences, if you lost or tossed out said receipts, but there's nothing I can do about that. I hate when transactions don't go as planned just as much as you do. However, things do happen that are out of our control from time to time. If you agree, I would just like to put this issue behind us.

For everyone watching this thread... if any of you still have questions about my integrity, I again ask you to please look at my feedback or contact me if you have any questions. Also, as stated in previous posts, if you pay by MO make sure that you document everything and keep your receipts. Myself, I will send a MO via Priority Mail with signature confirmation. That way I know the payment will get to the seller quickly and I have proof that they received it. I will then hold on to the documentation until I receive the product. By taking those extra steps, you will save yourself a lot of head aches if something goes wrong.

I would suggest that if you, wired45, can't, or won't, answer Cougar's simple, straightforward questions you are the one who is looking bad here. From what I've seen so far I'd have no problem dealing with El_Toro but I sure as hell wouldn't deal with you.

Guys, I'm going to close this thread down. As I stated, I don't want it to turn into a thread bashing wired45. I think (hope) that this has played itself out. If he wants to continue this discussion, then he's welcome to open a new thread in this forum.

No, we can't close a thread in TGB&U, and we especially can't close this thread before wired45 has an opportunity to answer my questions.

He's grumpy cause he paid twice, give him a tissue.
In fact, you paid once and %$#@ed yourself over once, blame yourself if you are going to blame anyone here.

Nobody forced you (wired45) to go for MO I'm assuming right? If you didn't like it then don't buy the stuff then.

If situation's turned and the buyer tells you to ship your knife even when you haven't receive any MO (lost in mail) what would you feel? Perhaps you should just ship your knife without payment recieved cause that's what you're asking now! I hope wired45 tries to see things beyond his current perspective.

It's the seller's choice to use/specify whatever payment method and nobody forced you. The buyer is responsible for making sure money arrives to seller and seller is responsible for the knife arrives to the buyer within his power (if buyer does not pay for insurance, tracking or etc then it's buyer's own fault still).

(If nobody forced wired45, he didn't keep his MO stubs, he barged into a for sale thread making unfair accusations, and he still think he is faultless. I hope he would do the right thing and make things right)

The only way you paid twice is if the Money Order was cashed. If the MO was cashed the USPS can investigate this since the MO would have clearly been misappropriated and fraudulently cashed by another not entitled to it.

OR

it was never sent in the first place and wired is full of crap!!!

Cougar (and others) have asked some very easy questions being clearly and obviously avoided.

I hear quackin, see woddling and smell down.......................:D

Probably not to late to get the m.o. refunded. They are only good for like 60 days anyway. I am surprised the P.O. didn't contact you to tell you that it wasn't cashed. That has happened to me once, where the fella didn't cash it. I rec. a refund and repaid the fella. That was more than several years ago and it was for a bow. Anyways I know they are only good for so long and then they are canceled. If it was cashed you can find that out too. keepem sharp

Maybe if wired45 decides he can answer the questions after all, and show a little integrity, then maybe he could be reinstated, but he can't just troll and walk away.

wired45 has been in touch with the moderators and says he wants to respond so I've unbanned him for now and we'll see what happens.

Thank you! No hard feelings on my end, glad that we could work things out.

Just wondering if anyone knows whether or not Wired45 has any recourse without the receipt. I read the following off of the USPS website regarding lost or stolen MO's.

Replacement of Lost or Stolen Money Orders
To replace a lost or stolen money order, a customer will need to fill our Form 6401 at a Post office and pay a fee of $5.00. After the USPS completes a payment inquiry on the status of the money order, a replacement can be issued.

Just a note on a personal experience with a money order transaction to show that things don't always go right. I sold a canoe to a guy in Minnesota and shipped it to him with the understanding that the money order was on the way. He had made arrangements with the factory to haul it back there on the factory delivery truck's trip back home, so I had to make the truck's schedule. The money order never showed up. We stayed in contact and were both getting a bit frustrated, but managed to keep the exchanges civil. He eventually (after a month) wound up cancelling the original money order and sending me a new one. The original money order showed up two days after I cashed the second one. I called to let him know that it had finally made it. He was pretty disgusted with the situation. Not with me personally, but with knowing he had sent the money and it had just never arrived and he had needed to do a second money order just to prove that he was honest. On top of that, a couple of days later I received a couple of bill payments that someone in Seattle had mailed to an address in Washington state. I have no idea how they ever made it to my address in Maryland, but it looked like they may have stuck to something else when they were going through the automatic sorter.

Like folks have said, it's worth it to keep the receipts and stay in contact until both parties have received everything.
