Wish List: What Would You Want?

When Spyderco made the Resilience with a blue FRN bi-di-tex handle and S35VN steel, they pretty much made what I wanted. I was hoping for that in LC200N, but really I am loving the S35VN. Keeps a great edge, and easy to sharpen, especially after my regrind. Spyderco can retire now. (I kid!)
Is that model still around? BLUE + S35VN.... that might...might, just be enough for me to purchase a Resilience. So far, the Bug is the only one from that region that I have had any interest in, but that might change with this.

I have also been wanting one of those Endura-shaped LC200N knives. Salt 2, I think?

Yes it is, and I think you wouldn't regret it if you get one.

I really would, the back lock has stopped me from buying this awesome design... and a few others matter of fact. Not that I don’t trust the back lock it’s just if I can open a knife with one hand I should be able to unlock and close it with the same one hand.

Uh, what? That's why the backlock is a favorite of mine, I can easily unlock and close them with one hand, right or left.

That’s cool I guess, I find it hard to keep my fingers out of the path. Big hands I dunno, sometimes they’re in the way but there’s no worry of that with comp or frame lock for me. To each his own.

Is there a special reason you can't do it? It is fairly easy. Sometimes I even fidget with it, like this:

I would like to see a Rookie in CF/G10 laminate. The blade steel could be S35V, S30V, XHP or even VG10 - all good.

No I guess no special reason besides big hands and just sometimes having my fingers in the path. I’m probably underestimating the size of the chief too I’ve never handled one. I just prefer not to take chances as most the time I’m either in my boat, canoe, etc etc. It’s just personal preferences. Can I not just want a chief without the back lock, this is a wish thread after all sorry I even suggested it.

Another thing I was thinking, is that the Stretch 2 is, to me at least, very similar to a "Budget PM2". I haven't seen the blade stock or anything yet, haven't seen it up close, but from the pics and size, it seems very similar to a PM2 in FRN. I'm really thinking of one!
I would definitely suggest it. I own an ivory frn sprint run of the straight spine stretch 2 in vg10 steel and it’s an incredible knife. The blade has a bit more of an upswept belly near the tip (which I really love) rather than being more of a gradual continuous curve on pm2 blade shape. Ergonomically I imagine both a really similar to most, the stretch beats it for me because of its more spacious finger choil

You can wish for whatever you like. It just makes me wonder when people avoid the backlock for reasons I can't fathom. I developed my dislike of the compression lock through considerable experience with it. Spyderco practically invented one-hand knives, and all the early ones were backlocks. My hands aren't exactly tiny, and they're getting old and arthritic as well, and I find backlocks the safest and easiest lock type to operate.

More militaries
At least a few runs. A lot of people want to buy. Heck, I've been waiting for either the Millie 2 or a Millie in a tough steel. Maybe the 52100 is for me...

Also, more stuff to add to the wishlist! A sprint-run Civilian or Matriarch 2, like the CF Civvie done years ago. That would be beautiful, maybe a purple G-10 Civvie. Also, sprint runs of the smaller, more "usable" reverse S shapes in different steels that take long lasting edges, kind of like you guys did with the M4 Dodo! That is a beautiful knife with a fitting steel for absolute "little big knife" duty. Other choices include the Lil Matriarch or Cricket, as well as bringing a disco'd knife like the Dodo back from extinction as a sprint as has been done before! Please, reverse-S sprint!

More Wharncliffes, if I had my way there would be a Wharnie version of every Seki knife. Wine red/burgundy/some dark red/purple G-10. Also A knife that is at least halfway ground on the spine-side.

Wish lists are wonderful things. Do I get three? If it is just one specific thing:

1. A Wharncliffe Dragonfly in MagnaCut would be the bee's knees. (I would also accept S45VN or SPY27.)

If we are talking more general stuff...

2. All Spyderco knives optimized for easy disassembly and reassembly!

3. All Chinese models in 8Cr13Mov bumped up to either 9Cr18Mov or 14C28N. Most of these knives have drifted way too far up in price for the performance offered by 8Cr13Mov. Meanwhile, too many Chinese brands are offering stainless options with much better performance for less. The last price hike has knives like the Tenacious in 8Cr13Mov competing with WE and Kizer products in 10Cr15CoMov (Chinese VG-10) and N690 respectively.

Luckily, Sal has confirmed that they have been exploring solutions on my third wish. Let's hope it happens sooner than later. I'm glad to have viable Spyderco options over $100. I'd love to have more viable budget options from Spyderco.

I have a whole list of models that came before my real addiction kicked in. I would like to see a reissue of:

The Air
The Catcherman
The K2
The Warren Thomas Karambit
The P.I.T.S. folder (which I just learned will actually be made again!)

And while I'm at it, a slightly longer Native knife built along the lines of the Chief with nice thin blade stock.

Seems like the Military 2 would be a good candidate for CPM 3V! (Although CPM Cru-Wear comes close...) CPM M4 would also be nice...

What knife would I like to see Spyderco make? My cutting chore are pretty light duty so my current EDC is more than up to the task but I would love to see the backlock version of the Lil’ Native get the blue G-10 and S110v treatment like some of the other models coming out of Golden, CO. I also love the idea of a Navigator 2 with K390 blade steel and a full flat grind blade.
