Women and Knives: Why More Women Need To Carry A Blade

BG, you actually deserved some criticism over the gun picture and that would probably have occurred in most any forum that is outdoor related. Publically.... unfortunately, yes in my opinion. It serves as education for others versus just signalling you out. And, life goes on hopefully. Good luck tomorrow BG.

Have not checked if the other one is gone yet, but it needs to me. If it is still there, I will voice a complaint with the mods.

I wouldn't worry I am sure the mods report buttons have been flashing all day.

It really doesn't matter.

I don't buy into that Christian doomsday bull hockey, and I won't be watching her post on it either. But the bottom line is, this is a forum, and as long as Spark and the mods see fit to okay her posts, then so be it. Who are you?

And going a bit further, even though I don't hold with anything she's saying much, there's a thing that goes way beyond Spark and the forums, called the First Ammendment. She's got free speech just as you have for your spouting off. If you don't like it, don't partake. But you can't stop the girl from exercising her free speech as long as Spark and the mods feel she's okay. It doesn't matter if she's trying to drum up the numbers for her blog or Youtube videos. This isn't my forum and it's not up to me. Like my old man once said, 'if you don't like the program, don't listen to it.'

You know, I spent 10 years in the army, and I remember the day I enlisted. There was this oath we took "to protect and defend the Constitution Of The United States, from all enemies foreign and domestic." I guess that means everyone has the same rights, and it doesn't matter if they are saying all kinds of nice things about Vladimir Lenin or Uncle Joseph Stalin. They have the right to say it. In here, it's up to spark and his mods.

That's true Jill, but just because one can, doesn't make it right...
People aren't offended by the fact that she is a woman. There are other women here who fit in great, in any subforum.

IMHO the problem is, it isn't about the knives. It is about attention and self-promotion.
That is evident by the fact that the selfies she posts are more focused on her, not the knife, and from what I have read here, linking to her videos and other things.

If she came here and just talked about knives, this is a knife forum, and didn't flood the pages with selfies because she thinks everyone is enamored with her looks, she would be just fine.
I didn't see the picture of her pointing a gun at her head, but that really takes this thread to a different level. Seems a little desperate, but anything for attention I guess....

However, as you said, if Spark and the Mods feel this is appropriate, it is their choice, and for me personally, I respect that I will not comment further on this thread. I'm not sure why it is deemed ok, but that isn't for me to decide.
YMMV of course

I've seen countless people looking down the bore, of empty firearms to inspect the condition. They put a bit of white paper in the breech, shine a light and go to town inspecting the bore. Nothing to joke around about, but they do it all the time, to inspect the bore.

Well,if for any reason you do not like or disagree with any posts presented here,in this thread, for what reasons you are reading it and searching for picture, you may dislike? Just because you do not like any picture here, you think you are in charge of giving orders to others to put them down? By the way, there is a picture of guy aiming gun to his mouth-that picture does not offend you at all,but girl posting knife carry pictures relevant to thread she create -that does? Can you explain your grounds for this attitude of yours? Because that seem to me more than personal and really unreasonable....

Bottom line,if i do not fancy some threads, like woman carrying knifes and their reasons for it,i will just not being their audition and will be audition to threads i am having serious interest in and like being part of them...You obviously are not,so whats the catch i wonder...

There was a member here with an avatar of a man with a pistol to his head, and guess what nobody ever complained about it.

Exactly my point Jill,-see my previous comment, guy aiming gun to his head does not bother anyone,so this just give me clear indications, whats right and whats wrong

Maybe we should all have inappropriate gun handling avatars to make a point that we have the constitutional right to express ourselves how we want.
I'm going to make one when I get home. If I see them going up I'll upload one too.
The media shouldn't be the only ones who use the 1st Amendment.

That would be knives not knifes.

Glad you actually have a second paragraph on this post. You might try spaces between sentences as well. Buddy, I have been here for 10 years. What you said above is pure BS. The other picture was referenced if you read my posts. I am all for everyone, male and female enjoying carrying and using knives. Can't understand your "bottom line" at all... maybe you could explain.

Let me know if you do, because I can't see any avaters, or signatures. l would go change my settings just to see it! :-)

I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness. LOL.

Who's attempting to curb her First Amendment right , boss ? I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments. However, it cuts both ways as I surely have the right to reply to Ms. Leahz's comments (read proselytizing) here , yes ? If you do in fact agree then please stop trying to play the victim on her behalf. Think about it ...

I also happen to be a veteran , so I am aware of the Oath of Enlistment.

We are all well served to remember that there is always somebody who is smarter, better informed, wittier, better looking, more charismatic, wealthier, more experienced, etc. When we lose sight of this, we tend to creep, or in many cases, sprint with abandon toward the practice of presenting ourselves as fonts of perfection from whom others may draw improvement through association. The First Amendment protects our right to free expression in *public* forums, but it does not protect us from being held accountable for how we choose to present ourselves. It protects our right to express opinions, but does not magically provide validity, or put us on even footing with those who are more knowledgable than we are.

In a nutshell, I could walk up to Chris Reeve and tell him that he should begin using parsley for blade construction, and he could respond by calling me an idiot and explaining why CPM S35VN is superior to parsley for this application.

If we don't want to be called idiots, it is up to each of us to make sure that we don't give people good reasons to call us idiots.

Sorry,my apology for any grammar mistakes that i made. With all due respect, i speak and write number of languages (six languages to be exact).

I always try to explain myself,to the best of my knowledge in each of them.English is not my mother tongue and i know-i am not perfect in it,as you appointed to me now along with other BF member....

Well,my congrats to you being 10 years surfing internet and this forum,,,(i am only newbie to you and to many others),second paragraph is clear enough to be repeated again.

Kind Regards

The first Amendment means exactly jack squat here. This is not a public forum. It is private. The first amendment protects you from persecution by the government not other bfc members.

Agree 100%. (although the First Amendment does not apply to a private internet forum, the principle of "open discourse" does, as far as it is deemed ok by the mods)

I don't understand why Lyn construes any comments that are not blatantly complementary and fawning to be "internet road rage." She also seem to think it appropriate to weigh in with a ad hominem attack against anyone who disagrees with her. I would be happy to talk about women and knives, but based on Lyn's posts, that is not what she wants to do.
