Women and Knives: Why More Women Need To Carry A Blade

If people don't like her threads then don't read, or post in them. I never posted my face on here, ever and I won't. I heard many members publicly complain I wouldn't too. Then when a woman does they complain about that, too. It's not my style to post my picture online, some people here do post themselves here, lots of men do. As long as it's allowed the ones getting upset about BG should ignore her threads. At least after they finish raking her over the coals about the Daisy.

Will there be Daisy Duke shorts ?

DC...:D

I think some people might enjoy it, at least more than don't. And she can always retitle the thread, maybe something like, warning if the sight of bare skin and blades offends do not open!:grumpy:

Couldn't have said it better myself, Jill. Thanks. Yeah..the fact people go on after I have said "point made" and deleted the photo says a whole lot..they don't care about the photo, it was just because I posted it. If it was someone else, it would have been funny or okay. Thanks! :-)

In no context would that be funny or ok no matter who posted it. I don't see the part where you made any point.

Bull! I could name one instance were it would have been just fine but I wont. Remember? This will be the last I say on this subject.

I posted a picture of me holding my .38 Smith & Wesson once and got flack about having my finger on the trigger. Oh yeah I dry fire it a lot I replied, hard to do so without my finger on the trigger. Dry firing smooths the trigger and helps give you a feel for the action. Might be against the safety rules of some, but a lot of people do it.

Someone posts a photo of a gun pointed at their face, and then people are shocked when someone else points out how dangerous it is. And yes, a BB gun is a "real gun", as it launches a projectile at a high velocity and can do serious harm.

People are funny.

Somebody here used to have an avatar of a man with a pistol to his head. Never heard anything about that though.

I cannot believe that no one has commented on Blade Girl's lack of understanding on the topics she covers in the video. What are her qualifications to discuss disaster preparedness? What are here sources for the "advice" she peddles in her for profit video? A large portion of the video is her scrolling through threads on other forums and talking about what other posters have said. She discusses the possibility that Jesus wore a sword (really?), and at one point in the video refers to a knife as a "benchmadespyderco" knife. Overall, I found the video amateurish in its production, and the content to be little more than an amalgamation of "stuff" gathered off the internet.

I have no interest in derailing this thread. However, given how many off topic posts the OP has made (like the video with here kids, or the pic of her holding a bb gun to her face) I feel that it is on topic for me to offer my opinion. I am not a "troll". I will not be clicking on any more of Lyn's videos. I find this thread to be a thinly veiled attempt to generate traffic to Lyn's blogs and YouTube page, and am disappointed that she is continuing to post here.

Just one more thought before this gets shut down....

In a thread that is suppose to be about the legitimacy of women carrying knives, the Original poster posts a picture of herself with a gun pointed at her head, as a joke. She then goes through and tries to delete all the posts where she looks bad.

How exactly is that furthering the idea that women should carry a knife? You are making women look stupid. Which is wrong.

Again, I am teaching my daughter the proper way to carry and use a knife. I didn't need an attention thread about it. When my daughter is old enough, she will learn how to properly handle a fire arm. This will of course include the common sense to not point said fire arm at ones own head, no matter the circumstance.

It's not allowed, it's considered trolling in this particular thread.

You know me..don't want to disrupt the menstrual flow going on here...

And I find this post in bad taste and offensive to women.. But she's already deleted it along with many other comments.

Logic and reason have no place in this thread.

Lots of wannabe Mods telling paying members how to think!

Yeah, it could have a bullet in it and kill someone, and it messes up the firing pin, but who cares?

Actually many, MANY, people have. If you know where to look you can find them. Indeed some have even gotten into heated arguments about said cred. But quite honestly with a current count of 1,086,504 active threads; 13,487,129 current posts, with 24,192 active members posting right now, she does not encompass the entire Blade Forum universe.
The side bar to all this is the lesson this teaches all of us forumites. For every ridiculous or uncredited thread that gets started, for every silly unsubstantiated reply, this opens a door to freedom of post. If she can then you can. Done.
At no point has B F admin ever set out to offer accrediting to the accuracy or honesty of a members posted reply. Can you imagine how daunting that task would be. Opinions are offered in public chat rooms daily. Not all are accurate, well thought out, or honestly intended. We here are no different. If you read something you disagree with say so, back it up, site your source, but always be courteous to the community.
Think of the directions on a tube of burn creme "If the irritation persists discontinue use immediately." :D

...ruins their fun. Hey..what do you think of those Rough Riders? Cheap..but you think they are quality knives for the price?

The Rough Rider BB guns are pretty well made. I own one. It is old school but a classic. I assume you took that post out with the BB gun picture. I'd like to see the other ones included in quotes gone as well. Not a good example regardless of whether many of us have done precisely the same thing.

Added: I'd also like to see the picture above with the handgun in the mouth GONE. It is not cute. It is not fun. It is dangerous behavior. My hope is the mods will delete that one.
