Wooden Wednesday - Traditionals only please

This has to be my favorite thread. Great pics everyone!!
Finally got one in cocobolo, one of my top favorite woods to turn..
I was on the fence about this knife I was expecting it to be bigger but the more I have it in hand the more I love it.

I always admire what you did with that one Kevin

Couldn't decide, started with the #9 but switched to the En Aubrac

Pete

Pete - our tastes do converge quite often. My original opi no 8 got quite a work out this weekend breaking down dead branches from a tree from the garden. Didn't even require a sharpening after its trials. Gotta get my buffalo forge de laguiole out again. Only desist from carrying it due to NYC laws, but I'm sure it would have fun in the garden.

It is pretty stiff Ron. This is about the max pull I can work with my arthritis. I'd put it at about a light 7.

Jeff....Congrats on your #85 Coco....as you can see by my avatar, it is a favorite of mine. It is the best feeling knife sitting in my hand....by far. Yours has beautiful wood. As I'm sure you know, it will darken nicely. Enjoy!!!

Thanks Mark !!! I'm real happy with the Cocobolo. The knife is a little lighter than I expected. At 62 grams, it's about 3 grams less than the #99 Field & Farm in Linen Micarta and 10 grams lighter than a Northfield #99 Wallstreet in Smooth Bone. This knife carries easily.

This ebony 38 isn't being treated gently. It's been carried without regard to damage, it's been dropped, tossed, put away wet but oiled and sharpened......it doesn't seem mind at all.
