Wooden Wednesday - Traditionals only please

Just picked up this well loved 73, and the Osage has darkened to the same shade as my well loved Osage chisel mallet

That's a super picture there, I imagine you'll be carrying that one a lot then :)

People look at you funny when you carry a mallet in public...

Jk, the 73 is actually going to live on my workbench among all the other wood handles.

Lookin good Ron! If that beauty becomes a user I for one would find it interesting to hear what you think of it. Especially the blade and grip's effectiveness. Thanks for posting.

redsparrow - Thanks for the compliment.:) I will be sure to post updates.:D

Ben - take my word, drop that 73 in your pocket, you will not regret it!:D:eek::D

Every time I see an Osage orange wood knife I haven't seen before, or a marvelous hunk of wood like that mallet, I fall in love with it a little bit more.

My #18 now has 2 light mystery scratches on the pileside bolster, out of %@&#in' nowhere, not at all commensurate with the near-primo condition of my real EDC 'yote, the brown camel bone (not a damn significant scratch on it!). :grumpy:

Starting to wonder if there isn't some voodoo going on. I think the Osage wants to get some EDC play, since it's basically forever marked as mine now. :o The coloration of the wood from use makes a compelling argument, and my wandering eye remains on the lookout for compatible biggie-sized Osage-clad knives. Fighting it is probably a losing battle anyway. What are the odds someone could convince GEC to do a run of #77s in Osage...with brass bolsters? :D

I like the way Oil Well wood is silver-brown with indoor lighting...
