Here's a Aikuchi from Bud Nealy. Olive wood, CPM-154 with SS bolster, brass & mosaic pins.

Here's Bud's description of the knife:
Knives of this design were used for armor piercing (leather armor) in 15th century Japan. The spine of the knife which remains constant all the way to the katana-style point, offers maximum strength and piercing ability. It also has a fairly substantial cutting surface.

ahhh Gary, this one just made me drool...that katana point , the jimping on both the spine and edge side are functional and adds adds to the balance of this knife.

weds... rosewood

Thanks, Shawn. Bud makes a real nice knife and his designs based on stuff from antiquity are pretty cool.

I like that Peanut! I'm not familiar with the Antique River Log. Next stop Google search.....

Thanks, Steve. I like the Katana point too, although it's no needle.
Bud seems to go that extra step in making his knives a little more usable then some makers. Case in point, the jimping.
Nice Rosewood pair!

I really like those mosaic pins, Gary!

Mine for the day...

Thanks, Joe. The brass and mosaic pins really do set the knife off.
I like the wood on yours. Some nice old coins too.

Beautiful knife Chip  You just have to love sunlight and a good burl wood.

A few different woods today but only carrying the 82. Old barn for a table, Turkish Walnut block, Cocobolo 73 and Osage Orange wood 82. Thinking of having the Turkish Walnut put on the 73.

I picked this up a couple of weeks ago, and was stunned when it arrived. Now I know what the
Blackwood folks are talking about ! Hard to get a good photo of it, but here it is. (47 Viper )
