A Wood Duck nested and raised her brood in a tree just outside one of our upstairs windows last spring.
They are one of the few duck species equipped with strong claws that can grip bark and perch on branches.
It's strange to hear quacking coming from inside a tree and then to see a duck walking around on a limb.
Since they are called Woodies I though it appropriate to show one here. (Internet photo of male)
