Wood (I have no idea what kind) on brick-and-wood. One of my brothers gave me this a while ago after carrying it in his toolbox for decades.

I'm going to guess Rosewood. Of course there are quite a few types of rosewood. But I'm gonna stop while i'm ahead. Very nice knife.
Thanks for the opinions about the wood on my vintage 110.macassar ebony I believe

Thanks for the interesting info, lambertiana. When I first got this knife from my brother, knarfeng provided some links on dating Buck 110s, and I'm convinced mine was produced in 1967, which is before the macassar ebony date you mentioned. Did Buck use different wood before the early 70s?

Please tell me about that beauty!
Hi Clay. It's a 255111EO in cocobolo. The eo is totally superfluous because even with it the blade cannot be pinched open. Of course, the drop point blade in the 25 pattern makes up for deficiencies. I got it in a trade as a user and that's what it is. If you want to see the 25 in all its glory head to the thread "GEC 25 - Gots 'em?"Please
