I have a knife Chinese made, with very similar covers. I'm pretty sure it is some sort of laminated wood, but i could also be well off the mark..

Yowza!! Looks like it's Go Big or Go Home Wooden Wednesday on St. Patrick's Day!

My rotation schedule didn't even assign me any timber to tote this week, but I do have this Italian worker on kitchen duty semi-permanently. (St. Patrick made his name in Italy, or one of those "I" countries, right?)
