I get most of my knives via online purchases, which typically means that what I get is "luck of the draw" in terms of fit, finish, and looks. But that Remington canoe came from a guy at a gun and knife show who must have had a couple of dozen of those canoes on his table, with clamshell packaging cut open so potential buyers could look at both sides of each knife. I spent a LOT of time examining canoes there and chose one that I liked (nobody to blame but myself :rolleyes:) for $10 cash! Here's the pile side, that somehow reminds me of stormy weather:

My rotation schedule didn't assign me any wood-hafted knives this week, but I have a coffee mug full of knives on the kitchen counter that I often use for food prep, and 3 of those have wood covers.
